Kavan Jet Ranger kit
I thought I would run this by here first.
I have a nice Kavan Jet Ranger kit that I would like to sell. The glass fuselage has had the windows cut out, but the rest of the kit is complete and NIB from what I can tell. I bought it a few years back with intent to build it. It would make a nice vintage scale project for someone. I would like to have $650.00 plus actual shipping. PM me with your email for more pictures.
Thanks, Mark

The kit has been SOLD

Wow, talk about past time.

I don't remembered much but the Kavan I bought from Hobby Shack had less metal than that and it was fixed pitch.

Wow !
what a great blast from the past ... LOL

I started with a Kavan Alouette in the late 70's ...

I wish I had time and space for this Jet Ranger ... I always wanted one ...

I hope this heli finds a good home !

cheers,
Nabi.

Nabi, I hope so too. I wouldn't be selling it if I had not been on layoff for the past two months. I built one back in the 80's and was hoping to do this one even better. They are majestic in the air.
Thanks for looking guys.

Be interesting to see if you get your price. I got mine NIB for under 300 but I've seen them go as high as 1100+ on flea bay.

Good luck with your sale, I'm a big Kavan fan.

Have you done any high
speed forward flight and turns steep banked, with it?

I notice you are flying the pre-hiller original head...

No MJ,

That's the last series Kavan head, the Hiller lever is difficult to see as are the mixing levers. Helibelli's Jet Ranger head is the same as the one seen in the new kit box at the beginning of this thread.

I'm looking at this on a 24" wide-screen LCD monitor and I can't really see the Hiller pushrods! There is only a max of one Hiller pushrod on any stock Kavan head, regardless of type.

The clue to the version is in length of the seesaw unit. The older heads use the longer seesaws with the mixing levers hidden inside. Flybars are halves, plugged into the seesaw ends. Compare the old and new heads side-by-side and the difference is quite clear. Hey, you should know, don't you remember what your Kavan looked like?

Geez, all this KJR talk - I need to do some maintenance on mine and give it some exercise...
