I am flying the Phoenix sim and generally like it a lot, I do have one small gripe in the fact that the heli (Rex 500) flies too well.
What I mean is that the sim heli seems to stable in maneuvers, where as in real life the heli is a little harder to control with such precision, I am finding I can do on the sim what I cannot on the real heli. Mainly in collective and cyclic control accuracy.

I have played with the wind settings, but is there anything else I can play with to get the sim heli more realistic?

I found two things. First, in Phoenix, set the EXPO on the cyclic to 0% if its not there already. Default is to have it on.

Second, on the real heli enable EXPO on the swash menu (NOT AIL and ELEV EXPO). What this does is compensate for the non-linear travel of the servo arms. On my T500, this reduced the the collective sensitivity quite a bit, which is a good thing. Without this setting, its kind if like having negative EXPO on the collective. Very punching around mid-stick, but soft at the ends. After doing this, I found my real T500 flies more like the one in Phoenix. But note this setting does work NOT well with lots of subtrim (above 10) so fix that mechanically first, and re-level your swash.

And it WILL require that you re-setup the pitch the range (swash mix values) for both collective and cyclic as these will be lowered a tad bit after enabling the EXPO setting.

However, the Phoenix T500 is still a tad to floaty. Autos are too easy and flips require less collective that it seems they should. I'm hoping that version 2.5 fixes that.

Also reducing the Disk Rotor size a bit will help it feel less floaty.

The "floaty" - ness of Phoenix is my biggest gripe. I have spent a bunch of time tweaking a 600N, to make it feel like it does in real life. Things like reducing the Hover stability, going -25 on the expos, reducing the Rotor Disk Size, reducing the lift a bit.

Also you can speed up the sim speed to say 115% and it will make it feel faster.

I am always looking of more tips to get these birds in the sim to fly closer to what we have in real life.

All tips appreciated!

Hi RayoVac

Just read your post in the above thread with some interest.

I am flying the 600n and would like to be able to get it to respond more accurately to the real bird.

Would you mind sharing the tweeks you have done in pheonix Please so I could try.

Thanks for your time

Regards Maveric
