prolly like 6-8 minutes depending on flying also you need a 6s 2600-3000mah or 2 3s 2600-3000mah (both must be the same) and connected to make a 6S

I have heard the 500 is hard on batterys, why is this?

DaMM, That is one cheap battery, as you are getting so much.

All the 500s on the market (425 blade machines) are super high performance. I mean none of them are laid back like some of the 550 and 600 sized machines. That makes them very powerful and quick but really puts a beating on the batteries.

As for how long the flight is? That all depends on head speed and flying style. I believe you could fly a Rex500 from anywhere from 3min to 10min on a 2600 pack all depending on how it is setup. I know MSH did a video of a Protos running 12min on a moderately low head speed while sport flying.

With Outrage 6S 3000 mah I do sports flying (loops, rolls, stall turns, etc.) and fly for 6 minutes and put back about 1950 mah back in. 80% = 2400 mah.

You know thinking about it, my friend has a Logo500 that he runs 6s 5000 packs in and with a head speed of about 1850 he easily gets 12min and it sill has way more power than my Raptor 30!

For the best response possible, this really should have been posted here:
http://www.runryder.com/f94p1/
and not in main. I would have a poke there because the guys there will be running all sorts of packs.

As stated, 500's are hungry buggers and if you are beating on it, 3-4 minutes is common.

I am still feeling lucky here.
I have two Outrage 2200mah 6S and a Trex 500 with a Scorpion 1400kv and can fly very mild 3D(like five or six flips and a few loops and rolls)for anywhere from 7 to 9 minutes.

I am admittedly abusing the packs as I am putting back 2180-2240 on every charge. However,I have about 35 or 40 cycles on them and no noticable change in performance.YET

I just started using Outrage 2500mah 6S 35C and have noticed a little more zip but it seems a little less airtime.
This may be because with the extra zip comes a few more stunts and some crazy climbs.

I am leary to go bigger because of weight but reading here is changing my mind.

I literally never use the word literally right.

russ,

Don't do like the guy above! That's li-po abuse!

You only want to put back 75 to 80%.

For a 3000 mah battery, max would be 2400.

Persoanlly, I'm using the Zippy 3300 and I used to get 7 minutes with the stock motor.

I'm now using a Tonic-X motor and only getting 6 minutes. I miss my 7 minute flights!

I'm guessing that the battery you pointed out doesn't have as much power as this one rated at 20-30C? Of course I still don't know what they mean by "20-30C"???

If your 3000 was rated at the same C-rating as the 3300, then I would certainly give up 300mah to get a $50 pack over a $90 pack!!!

To be kind to your battery and give it longer life, don't demand such high currents. This is easily acheived by increasing the number of cells as well as the drive ratio and also use a motor with a suitable KV rating to suit.

I agree,in a way.
I tell myself to never buy a pack that is short lived.
If I get 35 flights from a pack,I'm sold.
Well,I'm beyond that and still flying.
Now,I just fly till it won't hardly come back to me.
Sometimes I have to walk a couple hundred feet to pick up my heli.

To each his own.
If you want your battery to last forever then by all means, baby it.

I am in a learning stage and never want to put down.
If it costs me a couple batteries to learn a "tic toc" curcuit,so be it.I have just enough money to spare.Barely

I do however, take alot away from these forums and I may, just maybe, adjust my flying to save a battery or two.

I literally never use the word literally right.
