Tower Hobbies is selling 5G6 4#3b 4G3 under a different name but they look identical to Walkera's with different paint job.

Walkera = Cr@p. No matter who makes them they are always going to be cr@p.

To each his own, but I own a hobby shop and see these Walkera helicopters coming in all the time with problems. Nothing but shoddy parts even straight out of the box. I guess if your use to cheap cr@ppy made helicopters it will fit right in.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Got/had a few electric helis. Eco 8's are possibly the worst designed and built - but fly alright as long as you don't expect much and do essential upgrades. Trex much better built and fly much better in every respect. Currently fly-ready hanger contains:-

Trex450, Eco8, Eco8, Raptor50, mCX, Robocopter, Protech contra, DL50 Megawot, 30CC Yak, 30cc Edge, 56 Chipmunk, 40 diesel funfly, 0.55 diesel delta, 1cc diesel Outlaw, night Zagi, day Zagi, 61RE delta, Laser Arrow, Magpie 3ch, 30 4ch which I forgot the name of, 0.15RE delta, DG1000 glider, Liftoff hotship, Twin foam electric bomber, vectored SU27, Shocky bipe, Shocky edge, 3D foamy big shocky plus several other indoor toys.

So you can see that I'll fly anything; 'cr@p', 'OK' and 'Good'; and I can tell the difference.

I havn't had any other Walkeras than the '4G3', so you may be better placed to comment on the rest of the range. But if this one gets totalled - I'm buying another!

Definition of crap
Don't know if Walkera fits entirely. The 4#3B is very attractive and looks well made. But it's unstable as hell. I'm not a 3D flyer but I know how to hover, fly around, nose in and have done a loop or two in my life.

There's some kind of major aerodynamic flaw. It's not the size, either, we see PiccoZs stable as a rock with just throttle and tail control. I think it's the orientation of the flybar. All small helis have it far removed from the usual 90Degrees to the rotor. This works well with larger machines but clearly, not so with anything remotely small.

I'm doing some mods that have helped a bit. Changing the flybar location has been problematic, but I think it can be done.

4G3 ccpm collective with metal head and brushless is nowhere near that end of the scale. I've not had any other Walkera and the others sound like they might not be in the same league?

The 4G3 though, is a great little pocket rocket that flies much like a micro 450SE It's not the most stable machine - I have an mCX for that - but it rolls like a tasmanian devil and goes where you point it at a great rate of knots if you let it.

A very looooong way from being cr@p and a personal favourite at the moment. Think: micro-Hammy-the-squirrel on Espresso

The Walkera helis are what they are. Low cost reasonably good RTF micro helis. Don't expect spectacular performance and you will not be disappointed. That being said, both of my 4#3b's hover handsoff for more than 5 seconds. I can actually adjust rudder trim in mid-hover. It is one the most stable little helis I have flown. The 4g3 is also a descent flyer right out of box as well. Of course anything more than Fig 8's, funnels, stall turns, etc. is going to need a little more modding. However, I feel very safe flying these helis up and down my driveway where I would not dare fly my Vibe 50, Outrage G5 or T250 (none of which I would classify as cr@p). That is one of the best parts about these little guys. IMO.

Fly hard, have fun and take it home in one piece...

You say you have two of them that fly hands off for more than 5 seconds? I think THAT tells the tale. Five seconds,, wow. I have several PiccoZs that hover for a half minute, hands off, and THEY don't even have a swashplate. Sorry, but I'll be convinced if you'd post something to YouTube.

I'd agree 5 secs hands off. No, it's not as stable as an mCX or a picoo Z (too easy peasy but good fun when full of beer indoors!) and not it's not as precise as a heli costing 4* as much. Sheesh

What it is, is a fun little thing that you can fly anywhere and will loop, roll, stall-turn, hover inverted and shoot around like a psycotic squirrel with a sugar rush

If you hit yourself or the neighbours car/dog/window/prize azalea with it, you will not have to worry

Stability often apply's to the pilots know-how as much to the heli design here is a guy who knows how and the design is the old 4#3 that was not as stable as the 4#3A, B or Q

Hi
i have one of the Heli Max Novus FP's ( rebadged Walkera 4#3B ) and really like it , it came setup a bit too quik for my liking , but there are adjustments and by popping the links out of the advanced setting and using the medium setting in the top of the swash , and shortening the servo arms , it has tuned down into a nice stable and very smooth flier , because of its tiny size , it has also proven to be able , to take a pretty severe beating undamaged , because Heli Max is carrying it , parts are available at my LHS and are quite inexpensive , an extra battery was $9.95 , i have just been running rescue missions in the front room with it , and have to say , i have been having a blast

I have the Novus FP as well. Even though it's more expensive then the 4#3B I'd rather support my LHS.

Anyway, it's an excellent little heli. No experience with other Walkera helis, but this one is very good quality and flys great.

Helis this small are naturally gonna be some what unstable unless they are the counter rotating type, but it is amazingly stable for a nano size FP heli.

People having trouble with these must not have much experience flying small electrics like this. It takes patience and lots of practice. I've flown quite a flew micro helis so it easy for me. It's a ton of fun. VERY durable too. If you are going in cut the throttle and most likely there will be little or no damage.
