Hi , anyone has experience how to re-read the neutral position (trim) of Gyro Futaba 611 with Remote JR propo DSX 7 , the problem is the Gyro is not locking the tail , so with pitch the tail is going in circles as well and it is not clear how to adjust it in the Gyro manual .

Futaba gyros will read the current position as neutral upon initialization(when turned on). In other words, if you put trim in the gyro, then turn the gyro off then on, it will see the trim as Center.

Sounds like you have something else going on?

What i understood is if i use FUTABA remote it reads automatically , but with JR it is different , i was moving the gear switch three times in a second to make the reading.
but i didn't try to add trim , how can i do that in JR remote .

I do not believe that is correct.

I am using a JR9303. The 611 "Re-initializes" on power on. Regardless of the radio. The only quirk with the 2.4JR is that on occasion it will send a signal to the Rx while the gyro is initializing. This will confuse the gyro. But, it is easily detected. The gyro will start to drift until it hits full travel. Reinitializing power to the heli fixes it 99% of the time.

You need to the Gyro in CMT mode
Then when you switch to NORMAL and only in normal mode you can trim the tail. Then you use the gear or whatever else switch you have to memeorize the TRIM. On the the gyro box you ll see *** displayed for a few sec.

After that you switch back to AVCS mode. Now you probobly know this but never use the Rudder trim When you are in AVCS mode.

On the ground to center the rudder you hit the rudder stick 3 times and you get neutral.

I m not a JR Expert you might want to ask a JR expert.

Hope that was some kind of help

Auto has a good point.

Are you in rate or HH, when you initialize the gyro?

And are you adding trim in HH or rate?

YES now you got it
Best results from GY series is achived by trimming the tail in normal mode, then do it mechanically. After that you can use normal to fly it
staright and make sure you got 0 trim required. After that land the heli, memorize the trim and now you are ready for AVCS mode.

Or hover it, if you fly yet.

Hope that helps.

i didn't add any trim , may be this is the mistake , it is not mentioned in the manual .

do you mean rates 0 and 1 or the gyro gain rate 70%

Ok you got it trimmed from the radio i m assuming
Once you have done that, make a note of the lever in back and the servo wheel.

Depending on how much trim you used, adjust the pushrod going to your tail with the ball link of the servo wheel.

Take the servo wheel of the servo. Zero your trim out. make sure that the servo and the ball link are in a 90 degree angle.

You should be able to put the bal link back on, at zero trim centered.

There are lot of otherways to do this. This is the way i ve been doing it for a long time and works for me.

The idea is to have ZERO trim on the rudder stick on the transmitter and have the servo wheel centered. How you get there is simple.

Hope that helps

What do you exactly mean by not lock
Is it hunting, drifting?

also please now this if you are in normal mode, the tail will not lock in place.

If you have it in AVCS mode, if its hunting lower your gain.

I m going flying you can PM me. i ll be back in few hours
