Help me pick my next setup for a 90! All advice needed
Okay since I’m deployed to Iraq at the moment and out of the loop to what’s hot, I thought I would come here and start a discussion. It’s fun to hear about all the new items out there and to get people’s opinions/experiences. So here is the deal, I'm going to but a 90 when I get home as a little treat for post deployment fun. After all I missed x-max last year being here so I’m putting 2 into one.
I have a raptor 90 will full VMAX and I’m looking for something that I can compete with.
I want something that holds up to the abuse, some brands of helis get sloppy fast and are just not as high quality as others. My radio is a 14MZ and I prefer Futaba other than that electronics are fair game.
I am look for mid range pricing on parts but some helis are over the top on parts.
So what heli do you guys recommend?
What servos are people running now?
What battery setup are people running?
What govs are people using?
I am also looking for easy of setup and something that allows easy fast maintenance. No bashing everything here is opinion only and be sure and tell me why you think I should use this particular item.

So what heli do you guys recommend? If price is no object, the Vibe 90SG. Nice but expensive (but you are flying a 14MZ JR helis are top notch quality and seem to need little to no maintenance.
What servos are people running now? BLS 451/BLS 251 tail. I like them better than the JR8717 as the 8717 develop slop QUICK under heavy flying.
What battery setup are people running? I use 2 x 2s 2500 lipos in for a 2s 5000 pack. You can fly all day with it. HV setups may be different though.
What govs are people using? I use the GOV in the AR 7100r but a lot seem to like the Futaba.
I am also looking for easy of setup. Solved above

yeah I looked at the JR helis but the parts are insane. 140.00 for a one frame is huge!!
But I guess thats the price of quality, how do they hold up in a crash, do the the price hungry parts hold up in minors crashes?

Whats wrong with that one, thats a pretty durable underrated heli. Maybe it just needs some upgrades.

There seems to be a lack of love for the Rappy but unless you go crazy high end your not going to find too many helis that have the lasting power of the TT helis. They hold up great over time. Yours is crazy modified so I cant say anything about yours but my Rappys have always been a low work load and reliable.

Why dont you get some thing like really good electronics and the crazy powerful HZ91 engine with the SB20 pipe.

If you cant compete with a V Max with the good stuff in it then your prob not ready to compete

As far as servos, I have had great success with the JR 8717's. I run them on all my cyclics and throttle.
As far as a govenor, I love the Aerospire MulitGov Pro. Super easy to set up and reasonable.
It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

Dont you just love that MZ14
You can adjusr the GV1, you can adjust the gyro in 9 ways, Seperate trim settings, Kill switch, all sort of mixing. AND OR LOGIC for all the Switches.

You have made a good choice.
