OS 50SX Max vs. OS 50Hyper
Was wondering if someone can help me out. I am mildly starting some 3d manuevers and have a raptor 50 Titan with a OS 50SX Max engine with stock pipe. I was wondering if it is worth upgrading to an OS 50 Hyper head with an align hi performance pipe.. or will I not see that much of a difference with the power output. thanks in advance.

If you can't learn to do it well, learn to enjoy doing it badly.

nope, the carb on an os 50 hyper is a 60E and the non hyper is a 40E, the hyper's carb barrel is a little bigger and it also doesnt require a carb insert like the non hyper carb, thats where the little extra bit of power comes from, not much though. The hyper head is just going to cool the motor a little better.....in theory since its a little bigger

Tuned pipe is the way to go. Also your needle settings will change. Check it on your first flight.

Pipe and carb will make noticeable difference. Head will allow a little leaner mixture but not much difference in power. Upgraded all 3 items on my non hyper with good results.

I fitted my OS50SXH with the carb from my OS 70 , then tried three different heads - the standard SXH head , a Hyper head and a twin plug Bellwood head , all using an onboard temp guage . The SXH head and hyper head ran at the same temperature and needle settings , the Bellwood head ran a few degrees hotter .
Changing the carb from the 8.5mm bore 40E to a 10mm bore carb , like the 60E , makes the power difference between the SXH and Hyper , the head made no diffence that I could see .
At the end of the day , it gets dark .
