help with vario head
I've got a project in mind that would use the vario 5 blade hub but I need to know the diameter of the spindle shafts- $200 is a bit much to find out it won't work!
Anyone have that head?

Five Blade Vario Rotor Head
They are available in both 10mm and 12mm. Just go to http://www.eastcoastvario.com and select mechanics and then either 10mm or 12mm. I have one of these heads and they are very good. "OF" makes an excellent five bladed head as well, smooth as silk. You can see those at http://www.starwoodmodels.com. I am curently flying one of these 5 bladers on my E-converted Skyfox with a 12mm shaft.

Those are the dimensions for the main shaft.

The diameter of the spindle shaft is 8mm.

Thank you for your fast reply!

Yeah, I know 'bout the mainshaft diameter; I'm lookin for the spindle or feathering shaft diameter.

I want to use my grips and bearings on their hub and need the od and lenth of the spindle to figure if my grips will fit.

Are you able to measure/figure those measurements without too much trouble?

See, I have two 5-blade rotors sets and both are supurb EXCEPT in both sets the hubs are CRAP. I would like to just get a quality hub (I like vario better than of) without investing in a bunch of expensive parts I already have. Just need to know if my grips will fit their head.

I don't know the length of the spindle. I got the diameter from the Vario online manuals by checking the I.D. of the blade grip bearings.

Heliwrecker should be able to get you the length. If not let me know, I'll pull my 4 blade apart for you.
