I decided to follow the advice Charley had given about 50 flights before the belt needed to be changed. My "upgrade" belt I recieved that I was going to install arrived Friday of this past week and was in fact the "knockoff" belt that has IMO manufacturing flaws in it, with poor construction, threads showing on the sides of the belt, pock marks on the belt surface, and "contaminants" molded into the belt.

Well flight 34 of my stock belt resulted in a belt snapping and leading to a crash. The belt wrapped around the head killing my headspeed pretty much assuring my inability to save it via an auto.

Damage
One main blade
one tail blade
dented/taco'd battery(my best one :mad
canopy
various links and ends
possibly main shaft or spindle
belt which caused the whole issue
flybar
bottom plate

So now I GET to pay to replace this stuff due to poor quality manufacturing of the belt and pulley.

VERY upset to say the least. Wanted to wait a few days before I posted here, as I was going to see what HD or Outrage might do, but no word back. So fair warning to people here. Replace your belts at 30 flights until the tail pulley gets fixed. My theory is the stock belt will probably fine once that wobbly POS is fixed.

I think saying not to fly after 30 flights is unfair...YES, there have been a few incidents with the stock AND the replacement belt. You should wait until this is all sorted out before you scare more people than necessary. As with every issue on boards, sometimes the minority looks like the majority.

FWIW, I've had probably 75-100 flights on mine, both with the stock and new belt. Zero issues.

Well I'm just trying to save other people the misery I'm in.

IT was posted by Charely I believe that the stock belt should be changed at 50 flights.

There were some other failures in the mid 30's on Helifreak, and mine was at 34. IMO, for $6 I wish I would have changed my belt at 30 flights and been safe. I was going by the 50 flight recommendation and mine failed.

My pulley may wobble more than others. My belt might have been a bit "weaker" than other's belts. I can't say other than it's frustrating to watch your heli flutter to earth after the belt snaps and strangles the head.
