Anybody with Horizon's CNC metal head for a CP Pro 2 got a good suggestion on how to install the Jesus Pin into the rotor head/main shaft securely? The tiny pin is the same length as the diameter of the rotor head shaft, so it does not protrude out of the holes on either side. Then a piece of silicone tubing (they call it a "keeper" ) is supposed to be slipped over the pin/shaft to retain it. Well it seems nearly impossible to get the tubing over the rotor head shaft without splitting the tubing, and the pin is very loose in the hole.
I've thought about just using the stock pin (for the plastic head) which is twice as long, and bending the ends after installing it so it can't come out (kinda like a cotter pin).
Thanks.

I never bothered with any metal upgrades on my CP when I had it, but I'd say just use the stock one, or a paperclip, and bend the ends.

Or option B is you could just use a little tape to hold the pin in. Wouldn't be pretty though

Does the rotorhead slide down the shaft, like conventional set up's?

If so, could he get away with GREEN locktite?

Yeah, the rotor head slipps over the main shaft, and jesus pin goes thru both.

And yep, tape would be a little on the ugly side... kinda defeats the purpose of all the "bling" LOL

Man! Have I caught some flack over my bling!!! LOL

With the amount of torque on it, I wouldn't trust loctite alone. And even if it DID hold it that well he'd have a hell of a time getting it off for maintenance.

It's your hobby, and your money, so scrue those people. They are just jealous bastards. I love bling!!!

I'm sure the GREEN LT will hold, but you make a good point as far as removal. I guess it really depends on how much you rebuild.

A simple test with the green LT will answer all your questions though, and it is cheapo, and invisible.

Hi, My CP2 also had a sloppy Jesus Pin, I Ended up inserting an old drill bit which was a tighter fit and did not need any further securing. I have some silicone tubing which is used on the fuel line of Model aircraft, comes in 2 diff diameters ... is this what is currently splitting??

dryfly... yep. But I just used an original pin, which is longer and bent the ends. Seems to have worked fine.
Thanks!
