Hello all,

I´m looking to convert a freya to run 800 size blades with 91 glow engine.

I will be using it for AP/AV proposes, until now i used the Robbe Futura Cuatro and millenium, however these year robbe stoped the production of spares and kits,... i need a new big 800 size glow heli.

The question is:

It is available from hirobo any gear ratio to run 800 size blades foe freya?

Is there any longer boom and belt available to freya? Do you think is necessary use a longer boom for these proposes?

Looking for replies, tank you for helping!

Regards,

Tank you for your reply. After a lot of tests done, we preefer to run glow engines for aerial video and photography.

In spite of camera gear are becoming everyday more light we still need that extra lift that only 800 size can give us, also because we usualy get vibrations above 1400 Head speed, so what we want is 800 size glow, and runing at not more then 1400 rpm

I'm assuming he wants them for greater stability and lift to accomodate a camera platform of some sort. you will certainly need a long boom, which means tail boom, belt, and tail rotor control rod, I'm not sure if those are going to be easy to find parts... short of getting something custom made

a torque tube would make life easier and a round boom
the torque you can get for the freya but not a round boom so i would think you need to make a joint and put two booms together to get the correct length

or the cheaper option would be a raptor 90 (sorry guys i know we are in the hirobo section but its another option)
it already has torque tube and a round boom
extend the torque tube and see if you can get a length of ali thin wall tube the correct dia and cut to the length you need for the boom
the rudder control rod is a non issue as you can add a joint to make it longer (this goes for both the freya and raptor)

i've never tried it but i think you need to start with the 60/70 gearing
we have 10,11 and 12 tooth pinions on the freya and i think 93 and 95 tooth main gears but we may have others off the eagle to use
i'm sure greg at mrc will advise better on the available gear sizes
