Robert F. Kennedy Jr. calls Obama an indentured servant
Obama campaigns to tax the coal industry out of existence and then after the election, reality sets in. When he realizes that we can't fuel America on granola and marijuana butts, he flip flops over to coal.

Obama is proposing a $3.5 B package to develop clean coal and RFK Jr. calls clean coal a lie. ABC said it will take ten years to develop. So what?

Coal is too big a resource to ignore. We don't have any power sources that answer the energy problems as well as coal.

RFK Jr. is another liberal flakeoid that is sucking America dry.

Over 90% of all the Americans that have lived or will ever live will never see the beauty of Alaska and yet we refuse to drill near a tiny park. We would solve the foreign oil problem if we would just drill here now. I'd drill on mainstreet if there was oil.

Agreed. Oil cannot be replaced and we have plenty. Not opposed to other energy sources. We should develop them as the market demands.

But, to force us into them with cap & trade taxes would go a long ways to slowing this economy down to never recovering. In fact, we may already be there. Cap & Trade alone is estimated to cost each American family approx $3100.00 per year. Not cool for any working man's budget on top of multi trillion dollar debts.

Liberty once lost, is lost forever.

Follow the money
The main proponents of the cap & trade insanity are the brokers (yes, Wall Street types) and the people who get something for nothing.

The guy left holding the bag is the taxpayer. No, the bag does not have money in it, but it does smell.

There are plenty of alternatives to coal. Coal can only be cleaned up so much before it costs more to produce electricity using it.

FWIW,

Our refineries aren't setup to refine the type of crude oil coming out of Alaska. It's pretty much sold off to foreign countries such as Japan.

Also, even if our refineries could refine the crude from Alaska the refineries themselves are the bottleneck, not the amount of available crude oil...

A new refinery hasn't been built in this country for 25 years. Of those that were built, some have shut down due to the EPA and the others have had to increase their capacity.
Stupidity can be cured. Ignorance is for life!

You are so correct and that is what the $3.5 B is for. We need to develop clean coal usage. Texas has enough known coal to last us for the next 100 years. That is too much of a resource to just give up on.

Our refineries aren't setup to refine the type of crude oil coming out of Alaska.

You are batting a thousand here. The reason is because we don't choose to refine it....but we could. A world war, a natural disaster, a comet speeding toward earth, a new hair style for our Texas governor could cause our government to suddenly make decisions that would allow us to use our own oil.

A new refinery hasn't been built in this country for 25 years.

No strikes for you! But the EPA was not ordained by God - just our government. If this country needs new refineries, they could be built.....if our leaders chose to lead.

Hey, we're not just sitting down here watching illegal aliens sneak across the border (they're using air conditioned buses), we're sucking every bit energy out of the earth we can. Check this out:

http://www.infinitepower.org/projects.htm

"Drill Here Drill Now" makes sense because we may get cut off from the middle east at any explosive moment. Hey, maybe we could use cap & trade to ask Iran to not use the nuclear bomb and we could pay them with money we make from flaky liberal movies from Hollywood.

I forgot about BioWillie up here on I35:

http://www.biowillieusa.com/

I think Willie kinda drifted away from the business when he realized that it's not good to smoke pot when filling up the fuel tank.

I worked on multifuel engines in the army that would actually run on chicken sh**. Wow, if the BS from Washington could be refined, we would have an endless supply.

Wait a second, you're the guy that tricked me with the Ricky Lake joke. I was the last guy to get that joke. I better be careful when I read what you write.
