June 20th 2009

The Blue Ridge Mtns of NC cordially invite you to attend our annual fun-fly and crash clinic located in Arden / Asheville, NC. Home of the highly acclaimed Erickson Flight Skool and Heliheads flying field,
we welcome anyone willing to sacrifice their helicopters in the pursuit of a good time.

The event will be on Saturday, June 20th at 8am and end when we run out of fuel. We have limited space for camper / rec vehicles - no hook ups. (no flying or camper arrivals prior to 5pm Friday 19th) A $15.00 landing fee for pilots will include a Saturday feast.

Mr. Henry Caldwell a graduate student from EFS will be on hand to demonstrate all his skills obtained during his tenure at EFS, as well as Marcus Kim and other notable pilots and instructors!! This is a helicopter only event due to limited space at our field. I have contacted Will James and hope to have the Helifreak Gang on hand to record the impending chaos and crashing that is most expected at this humble event. RSVP's are welcome and appreciated. For those that may actually think that they are coming to this event to learn something about flying -- you are sadly mistaken! For the wives and kids we are but 5 miles from the Biltmore Estate and 3 miles off the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway.

Escape the heat of the dog days of summer and come cool off for a great event !

DATE: June 20th

START: 8:00am

EFS will be on hand to provide flight instruction, crash analysis, and most importantly psychological support for those pilots who find themselves taking the "long lonely walk" out to pick the carnage of what used to be their helicopters. Henry Caldwell will be available to provide a warm securing "hug" to each of the unfortunate ones that has met with disaster.

Erickson Flight Skool - "Where dreams of flying come true" - and if they dont, it doesn't matter because at EFS we get your money up front long before the lessons begin" !

Good news - Hot off the press - Pro pilot Marcus Kim is going to be on site to show his skills...

Between Henry Caldwell & Marcus Kim - there should be some exiting action, plus we have a few very entertaining pilots at our field, If you have not seen Bill Erickson fly you will be in for a surprise...
I might even break out some of my Tree-D skills

Everyone one will have a chance to see the new Outrage 50N being flown by Henry Caldwell. For those who have yet to see this helicopter in action, you will be amazed as to how well it performs.

List of Hotels from last years event:

I personally visited 3 of the hotels on the list posted earlier and my review is as follows

Comfort Inn
15 Rockwood Rd.
I 26 exit #40
Fletcher,NC
828-687-9199
I give this 1 -2 Stars, clean but no great shakes.

Hampton Inn Suites
18 Rockwood Rd.
Fletcher, NC 28732
828-687-0806

Manager -Ray Anderson

I give the Hampton 3 -4 Stars -- Very clean , continental breakfast, small pool

Holiday Inn -Airport
550 Airport Rd
Fletcher,NC 28732
828-684-1213
Mention Heliheads/EFS Funfly for the rate.
Manager - Walter Whechel
This gets 4 Stars in my humble opinion. Swimming pool , Bar Lounge, Restaurant, Very Clean -- The best bang for the buck !!!

These hotels are all within a 3 mile drive to the field and are all located off of Exit #40 and I 26 airport exit. Plenty of fast food and restaurants very close by.
