May I just say this about Henry...
His skills in planks and helis are a gift and come naturally to him...I've known Henry for many years and he's the real deal...even though the twins have slowed him up some....LOL

Just kidding Henry...you "da man"!!!

I think if you put all hem in a confined box that "Tareq Al Saadi" would definately prevail. He flys tight. It would be very interesting to put them in a restricted measured space and see who comes out

We have had this debate before and it all depends on what style you like
No doubt about it, Jamie Robertson is right there with the best of any of them. And to think he learned to do all that awesome flying in just a little over a year.

I have been privilege to see Curtis fly for a long time now and he will definitely be one of my all time greats. I have seen him pull moves that make guys jaw drop.

I remember him seeing him in Mt. Pleasant Texas do a backward rainbow blade scrape over the runway, followed by a immediate blast off high into the air after this, all in just a split second of time and everyone that saw it could not believe what they had just saw.

However, I have seen a whole bunch of the best of the best and it just depends on what style you like and what day it is. I seen Jamie, Curtis, Nick, Alan Szabo Jr, Jason Krause, Daniel Jetschin, Bobby Watts, Andy Rummer, Scott Gray, Lukas Riva, Domnick Hagale, Matt Botos and a whole bunch more great pilots and you could put all of them in a bag and shake them up and who knows which one would fall out first.

my all time favorites are Curtis and Todd Bennett , Jamie Robertson. the smack down is nice but gets boring to me its really just the same stuff over and over. the big wide open and fast precision stuff is much better to watch.

Henry Caldwell

Despite his balding appearance and occasional nervous twitches - He ranks in the top ten of overall total pilots IMO. I have witnessed countless flights in which he performs a variety of maneuvers that others are incapable of. Each top pilot possess skills unique to their own style but some are limited to overall capabilities.

Trying to figure out who is the best is like trying to figure out which girl has the best **** on the hot girls thread. They are all good, and best is subjective.

Over 4 pages and no one mentioned Jared Granzow. Sure I'm biased because he's a friend and I get to fly with him all the time. IMHO he is the most underrated pilot out there. He does the low smackdown as well as the big open 3D. He's flying is very technical and precise. I wish I had a 1/10th of his skills

I am going to add my own list here because we forget, these guys were awesome with equipment that pales in comparison to that used today. Also if it were not for them we would not have the advances in helis that we do today

Mike Mas
Tim Schoonard
Ted Schoonard
Robert Gorham
John Gorham
Bill Curtis
Ralph Geese
Cliff Hiatt
Dieter Schluter
Curtis Youngblood
Wayne Mann
Don & Dan Chapman

These guys are all top notch and they did it without the use of sims, heading hold gyros, huge horsepower engines, trick blades, etc. They all could put on one heck of a show

My 2 cents worth
I would be happy to be able to simply fly 1/10 as good as any of the professional R/C Heli Pilots that have been mentioned in this forum here. I had the priviledge this past Saturday to attend the HHF Fun Fly in Huntsville, AL and it was amazing to see all of the talent there. My club (http://www.nearcflyingtigers.com) is lucky that we're having Bert Kammerer as our honored guest pilot. So, to me, Bert will always have a special place in my book as one of the best R/C Heli Pilots of all time. Just my 2 cents worth.
