@ red_z06,

Do you fly?

And I agree with all of the above names too.
Great picks..

But, I must admitt, Tareq Al Saadi is my newest heli idle!!

I do what they call "mad hover". I am still trying to break out of "novice" into "intermediate" stage. So, it is good for me to have a 45+ age group idol to look up to.

Dude, I suck. There is nothing to see unless you want to bore yourself to death. It would be a slow torture.

Ed,

You should break out the 31-50 to 31-45 and 46 to 80.

You can put Mark Fadely in to 46-80 group I think.

I´ve seen a video of him flying and he is well beyond novice (or at least what I call novice)
He fly well more than I do (I'm a novice) after all, allthat time with Justin something have to stick

Intelligence chases me, but I'm a lot faster! Fernando

I bet he is just being modest is all. I bet he is a great heli mechanic though..

Sorry for the hijack, but I had to ask. Man, it must suck to be in the spotlight all the time,,,I will layoff.

What if we could make a blend out of 3 pilots, who would you blend in the mix
For me it would be:
-Daniel jetschin (master of precision and piro moves)
-Curtis (big style flying, crazy auto's!)
-Lukas Riva (who else flies that low )

l`d have to say Jason and the Szabo brothers have been a bit of the pace over the last couple of years, probably had other priorities.

Well "off the pace" or not Jason K was at the Rons Helipros Fun Fly and he was tearing stuff up with a T250 and his T500..
even indoors with the T500 sticking it to the roof in a confined space..

You didnt see the T450 Pro Test vids either... they were tearing stuff up ..

"Off the pace" or not he still belongs on the list as does Szabo..
and I guarantee they still fly rings around 99.9999999% of people here even when hungover and haven't slept for a week..

Dont get me wrong, they are still very very good but when you look at some of the technical stuff that Daniel Jetschin and Dominik Hagele are doing they seem to have dropped back a bit.

Just different styles of flight bro..
thats like comparing Jason K to Curtis..

they fly totally different styles.. CY is big and smooth and technical and Jason K is pure smackdown in your face shock 3D..

doesn't mean they are off the pace.

l was thinking back to the Alan at the lake video witch blew us all away but he`s still doing the same sort of flying. Some of the others have taken it to the next step with all the reverse piro moves and such.

For me, the two most innovative pilots are Curtis and more recently, Daniel Jetschin. They pave the way in developing new manouvers.

Reggie & Jeff

Thanks for the super kind words.

Each one of the top pilots are doing their share and defining distinct sub class of 3d;

Precision 3d
Technical 3d
Smackdown (pop & lock)

I believe those who excell and mixing in all three will lead the way in 2009 and beyond.

smackdown definitely at the moment would be tareq alsaadi in my book.. watch his turbulence d3 flying video april 2009... and his protos between two palm trees.. i tink he is using those star trek anti gravity device

but i do recall rc heli magazine (cant remember which issue) acknowleging alan sj as being the best in all category
