Sorry you crashed,

One consolation; If you are doing tic tocs with a vibe at 17, you are way way way ahead of most of us.

We call our planks, "just a bag of sticks" because we know, anytime we fly, no matter how cautious we are, it can happen.

Part of the sport, unfortunately.

I'd salvage what I could, cut a few yards, and buy an Audacity Pantera.

Hang in there. Things will get good again.

you sound pretty good at flying, and it sounds from your crash you were pretty high considering what broke. why would you be flying so high during tic tocs if you are this good?

Doesn't have to be high to cause a lot of damage. Might have done a chicken dance on the ground for all you know.

he said the frame is a mess, it takes a hard hit for the frame to be a mess.

8717 gone
solid g with 8900g gone
battery gone
ar7000 gone
atg might be able to save I
look at what was ruined

all this from a chicken dance, and a 5-10 foot drop doubt it.

yea I was on the deck, when I lost it, it went full negative and the motor went wide open, it slammed down extremely hard and danced for nearly a full minute, I did not have a good light with me and it was pitch black so I could not see it only hear it beating the hell out of itself. I finally grabbed the skid( I couldint see what side was up so I burnt myself on the muffler then reached under it and grabbed a handful of fuel line and ripped it out, 2 seconds after that it was over. it dug a huge hole in the ground, I will go take a picture.

oh and it looks like the 8717's survived it was somthing attached to it that was clicking real bad.

Having no power to the servos probably helped them survive.

How can I soar with the Eagles when I work with turkeys??

Probably Spectrum Browned out by strange frequency generated by Cold Light String Driver. or somebody got phone phone call on their 2.4gzh phone.
RX pack unplugged? happens to my friend NitroRC car and thing took off until it got destroyed in the woods.

Teenagers learn fast man, I let a 14 year old kid fly my heli, after 3 battery he was doing piro's!! Didn't even need a training gear to learn to hover.

most of you know how the ar7000 is powered, it just plain sucks and it came out on me, when I rebuild I will replace it with a 7100 so I have a good power connection.

so was this a complete night bird set up?

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

yes I set it up this weekend and it was sweet then crashed it 9:00 Monday night due to a ar7000, I will put a 7100 in with the rebuild.

main blades are 160....

the whole night setup was given to me at the Huntsville funfly, I am really upset I will not be able to replace it any time soon.

Jeez, you need to find a better place to buy blades. Where those MS night blades? No 600mm blade is worth/cost that much unless they are a limited production FAI Japanese set. Still

If 3D is your style of flying, You should try a set of SAB red devils, or regular radix 600 which are very good for anything, (the stick bangers dont help that much and auto for crap)

You can even get the Radix 600 cosmetically flawed for a really good price from CY. Same with the tail blades.

The proper way to power an AR7000 with high power servos is to have more than one plug feeding power. A std J connector is only rated to 5A AT BEST!
My friend uses 2 leads out of the battery w dual switches and connects the second one to a Y connector on the throttle channel. He also uses A123s, which dont really need regulating if your servos can take 6V. Cheap and SIMPLE setup good for 10A
