Im done....(edit: dangit I am stuck for life)
well about 5 min ago I was flying my vibe with my new night gear and I was doing some tictocks when somehow I lost receiver power and it went in........
the airframe is a complete mess
ms mains gone
ms $70 tails gone
8717 gone edit:may live
solid g with 8900g gone
battery gone
ar7000 gone
atg might be able to save I dono
I dont even want to think about what it would cost to get it going again. everything has been going so well for me lately... I just today took apart my vibe and checked everything I dont know how or what happened. I just turned 17 and am so busy with school I will not be able to get money for a rebuild for a long long time.

cya round folks.

im sorry for your loss, everyone goes through stages where money is a problem, and flying again is uncertain. just wait it out, it will cost a lot more to replace everything if you sell out once you change your mind, assuming that is what you mean.

don't give up wingman. anything worth doing won't be easy. in this stage in life i'd recommend getting a used raptor or something you can afford to keep flying. this is a great hobby but you need to do it in a way that suits your budget. sucks about your heli. my advice is sell what little you can and hit the classifieds for a more affordable heli. hope it works out for ya. good luck.fly it like you stole it

just keep working at it and don't give up. I am the youngest guy in my club and it is real hard to always keep the birds in the air. I would say, put the bird aside for a little bit and start putting away a few bucks a week and in no time you will be ready again. The hobby of RC is great and you will miss it way too much if you just give up.It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

Sorry to hear, but you've learned a valuable lesson...

Never fly what you can't afford to crash...

Keep your stuff, hang in there, and you'll be back.

Focus on what's important, take care of school!
Don't worry about the Vibe for now, take it apart, do a break down list of what is and isn't damaged, then start bolting together what's good!
We will still be here if you need support or input!
Good luck buddy, I'm sure you will be back sooner than you think!

i flew a JR Vigor when i was still in school. and had two $1000 crashes with it. it really does make you want to just say to hell with it and leave the hobby.

a better idea may be to save for a 50 size machine. they are a lot nicer on the wallet. JR is absolutly terrible on the wallet.

Wingman,

Is that your only heli? I personally would much rather have 2 less expensive helis/setups than one pocket burner!

I have heard of cold light string wearing through and conducting on the boom or carbon parts causing power losses. Could that be the cause?

the light string was on a separate circuit....I own the vibe because I have flown almost every other heli out there and nothing compares to it, also I have the expensive electronics because it is boring without them as I can really lay down the smack. last night I was so warped I felt like I was going to puke. Thinking about it again I will be working my a$$ off all summer trying to get it flying before ircha
I have a T-rex 600e and it is for photography only, maybe I will be able to make some money with it this summer also. I still have the rave and it flys very well so I am not completely out...when I rebuild the vibe an ar7100 is going in it so I wont have power issues, I have always worried about that one plug but never shelled out the cash to fix it.

I guess there is just no way I could leave this wonderful hobby.
