Tail blade holders
I recently put on a set of K&B plastic tail blades on my Pantera. The new blades are substantially thinner at the root than the stock tail blades. Without some spacers I can't even get the new blades tight. And even when I do get them tight the tail has a new slight back and forth waggle. I know the easy answer is switch back to the stock blades but I don't like the looks and I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

I've had to use spacers in many heli's... but don't tighten the blade holders they can break and then the wow factor comes in to play. captbIf it's gonna happen it'll happen up there!

John, the blade grips you have, by design, are not supposed to tighten beyond a certain point. However, if you have play within the grip after they're tight, then yes, you'll have to resort to spacers. It's no big deal really as everybody has their own idea of how to make blades, but in reality, I suspect this limit on tightening, which we've designed into the new grip setup for tightening the blade bolt is what you're actually running into. You want these blades to be floppy loose so once they spin they sling outward due to centripedal force and become, in effect, rigid. This is how it's 'supposed' to be.

Thanks John. The K&B's were just too thin in my opinion so I threw the stock blades back on. They are floppy loose but they work like a charm.I was Spektrum when Spektrum wasn't cool

That's funny those KBDD tails fit rather nicely in my Pantera
