My align gov has worked good since day one

This is gonna be heresy on RR, I know, but I have a 600 w/ an ATGv3 and my 700 has the Align gov... I actually like the Align better... it transitions better from a full collective dump, has a smoother engagement... I dunno...seems to keep the HS right on the money

+1 for the Align

The formula is pretty simple:
Align + electronics = trouble

-1-1-1 on that... I don't think I'm gonna jump on the "rag on Align" bandwagon, since going way back to my first 450, the Align stuff I've had has worked just fine

no complaints

Align on my 700. So far, it hasn't worked. I've verified the magnets are installed proper by putting another magnet over them, one attracts and the other repells. My ATV is set to 65% and the sensor sees the magnets. When I activate it on the ground just under center stick, the RPMs drop drastically. Hopefully it's something that I'm missing.

I also use the Align regulator with on board glo. That seems to be working very well. I wish the supplied 1900 mah battery was a little larger but the heli CG's spot on so I'll just get a second battery. I can swap it out faster than my electric fuel pump can fill the fuel tank so lost time isn't an issue.

My 700 is new with only 5 tanks of fuel but Holly Smokes!!! This is a badazz heli. Usually I fly big and heavy helis (XLV)that are NOT aerobatic and the hottest thing that I have actual time on, aside from the Real Flight sim, is my old XCell Custom Graphite 60. This is a whole nother ball game. I like it!

Now, about that governor...

chances are its working fine, you just may not be used to the headspeed. Did you tach it to check if its at target rpm??

At 5 flights the gov should not be enabled. You need to fully break in and tune the engine and then turn on the gov.

65% will give you a VERY low headspeed. I run 80% on mine which gives a HS of 1850

the align gov is a very good working device but you have to know a small secret that i am going to share...
9303 with gov menu activated..

at first set up you have to set the throttle endpoints in tx menu at +100/-100
set gov menu at 100%
then do the teaching process that align manual describes so the gov will learn stick positions.
after that set gov menu at a price that gives your desired headspeed.
with this procedure i promise that align gov will work at its best!!!

That's what it did. From NORM flight mode, just under a hover at 1830 skytached, the RPM dropped way down when I tried the governor. I'll try the 80%. I originally set it at 65% as per the chart in the manual because I was after 1850-ish. Compared to the old 60's 1600-1800 head speed, 1850 sounds like it's near self destruction. I'm told that some 3D guys run the 700 around 2200 . That's gotta sound very tight and on edge. Don't worry though, after feeling the power with a rich engine, I'll get over the sound when it's fully broken in and I gain more stick time. I'm also running an air filter since I'm doing a lot of hovering. I'll pull it once I start flying it around. That'll net a little more power and require another tuning session but that's OK with me.

BTW- My 700 has head shake under 1750 in a hover but went away after I dialed the rpm up a little higher. At 1830, it's starting to feel real nice. I was told that 1950 is a sweet spot for the stock head with Curtis 710's. I'm not a 3D guy but I like to play at altitude and I love auto's.

Also make sure the carb set screw is tight. I have had them work loose and cause an air leak that was almost impossible to find until the damn screw came all the way out - then I found it. LOL.
