Ady, is that a 8900G on the 401?
If so how does it behave any problems?

cheers i`ve had and destroyed quite a few rappy`s in my time but this version really is bloooming awesome , in the right hands it`ll beat the lot , in my hands it`ll wind up all those t-rex`s at the field i fly at and believe me there is alot of them , alto , i have got one to get his rappy out again and tweak to titan se spec , who ever buys one of these , you will not be dissapointed , its transformed the rappy and i love it

looks good man. I'm having a few of problems with mine. First problem is one of the tail pitch fork pins is deformed so doesn't go through the fork Secondly, the pin that goes through the tail pulley won't go through due to the holes in the pulley being misaligned Finally, I'm tearing my hair out trying to get the engine lined up with the start shaft. When I bolt the engine tight, the starter shaft becomes almost impossible to turn by hand (clockwise). It's nice and free to turn when the engine bolts are loose but no matter what order I tighten them, it always ends up the same - tight as hell. I've decided to put it away and forget about it for a while before I smash it up through frustration!!! Perhaps I'll ebay it and at least recover some of my money.

The most dissapointing thing about this is that I've had many Raptors right from the start and have never had a problem but I'd say TT seem to have dropped the ball now regarding quality.

I'm really starting to wish I'd forked out the extra and bought a Vibe - at least they seem to go together

cor thats a bummer mate , could you return the deformed part to your supplier of the kit and get another ? the engine alignment is also a pain cos its all moulded and should line up , maybe someone can post something of some use , has the clutch shoe opened up coursing it to drag , don`t get me wrong i`m not takin the wee , its gonna bug me , did you leave the washer out from under fan maybe ? hhhmmmmmmmmm

I phoned Fast Lad and they were pretty helpfull - I've sent them the faulty bits back so hopefully I'll get her sorted. Regarding the clutch, it's not dragging at all - the clutch bell spins freely with the engine bolted up when i turn the main gear CCW. The misalignment is with the starter shaft going into the oneway in the centre of the clutch. I DID omit the washer under the fan as I installed a Quick UK fan which uses a brass collet... perhaps I'll try the stock plastic fan to see if it helps...

Sorry for venting earlier but you know what it's like when you set a day aside for a build and it all seems to go t1ts up! AAAAARGH!!!!

Try loosening the engine beam mounting screws after the mount is tightened in the airframe, fiddle and retighten. The engine may be sitting ca-ca in the mount. If you rotate the engine crankshaft postiton and the start shaft roughness changes the fan/clutch assy has runout.

Ok, I'll try loosening the engine bolts first.... Thanks for the suggestion. In hindsight, when I initially bolted the engine to the mount, I did 2 on one side first (tight) then noticed the 2 on the other side did not line up so had to loosen them and then start all 4 of them loose before tightening down. I guess the holes are drilled a bit out of line? I might try the mount from my old 50 if your suggestion doesn't cure it. I REALLY want to love this heli but jeez, it's making it really difficult for me

EDIT Just tried the engine with the crank in different rotational positions without change to apparent roughness so runout isn't the issue.

I was under impression that the Titan SE came with a painted FG canopy.

Does it or is an option?

UPDATE
Well, I still haven't got my replacement parts yet so my heli is still not complete. I've contacted Fastlad a couple of times but they haven't got back to me yet. If need be, I'll BUY the replacements parts - I just want to get this thing flying! I wonder when the Titan SE specific spare parts be available in the UK?...

On a more positive note, I got the engine alignment sorted, thanks S BELL, you were on the money
