Yep it sure is heavy. It's not one for pulling in and out of a car on a regular basis. It is ideal for long haul flights though as it's within size and weight limits.

If you are stretching a logo then leaving it complete (with boom) will really cost a lot to transport by air! You can save alot of money and weight with a smaller case if your willing to remove the boom.
Regards

Fergus

I have a SKB double case which is good for T-rex 600, but for the 800 size heli I still have to break it down, which I hate.

I have been thinking of Thule Ascent 1500, The Ascent series uses high impact resistant ABS Plastic, around $400, but seem to be able to fit 2 800 size heli.

68"x36X17. 45lb for 2 heli, is not bad.

What do you guys think of this?

it would work if all you were doing was putting it into a car that it would fit into. I think it would be awkward to use left up on a roof of a tall vehicle. A small vehicle it would be easier to look into it and load.
I would not trust it in a "luggage" situation where it can be thrown about by luggage handlers and put on the bottom of a pile of suitcases and backpacks.

If any of you need a big skb case, I have one that I could ship, or sell locally. It's the double wide skb golf case, sells for $320. $200+ 1/2 of shipping, and it's yours. It can fit a maxi joker, slightly disassembled.Rhett..... I can't fly, but the Profi sure can.

What about this soft bag for a heli. I am looking for a soft bag that fits my Vario Acrobatic. The plus minus ten biggest bag does not fit my Vario

Anyone has tried one of these?

Try the many companies that make custom cases for mucical equipment. They use very lightweight panels, then add the edges, latches, whatever you need. Pretty common stuff. If shipping is a problem, they might make it up and you can do the final assembly.keepin' it real
