My buddy painted this canopy for me.

and 1.5 flights later!

Damage to the canopy was minimal, but I did some damage to the heli. I guess I'll be repairing my helis this week.

I can't have anything that looks nice.

Man, I miss the eighties.

The Canopy still looks great, even after the crash.

I also notice you have some good looking bling on that bird.

Nice job, get her fixed back up and into the air.

You must have not seen the expiration date on the canopy before you bought it.......

I repaired that canopy once from the last crash. Its flyable as is, but I'm going to fix the small breaks in the gel coat and my buddy will try to touch it up. The worse thing that can happen is that I'll have to put stickers over the damaged areas.

I'll try to take the heli apart later this week to acertain the damage, but from looking at it, I'll need a boom, main shaft, spindle, pitch arms, flybar, booms supports, new lining in clutch and straighten out the landing gear.

Man, I miss the eighties.

It might not be scientific data, but I have plenty of personal data that seems to indicate that the use of a new/freshly painted canopy induces crashes. I've found that the use of a ratty, busted up canopy makes my helis last longer. How long it last seems to be directly proportional to how much crap my buddies give me about the looks of the canopy.

Sometimes you have to sacrifice your canopy to the heli gods so you will have a good year......My "Mr. Burns " canopy has been in the dirt a couple of times but still look OK at 60 ft......
