Hi Guys,

Now Scorpion have a proven track record for ESC's, do you think they will step up to the challenge of an ESC to take on the Jive 80HV and produce ESC for our 90's running 12 / 15s?

Now we're talking, I see these have appeared on the Scorpion website. Were not there the other day when I looked.

50V130A ESC from Scorpion.
First production will be completed next week and ship to our dealers worldwide.
The first prototype was made and run in august 2006, over 2 years of developments, 6 PCB design change, components changed many time too, and over 400 firmware changes since 2006. This is the only 8 layer PCB ESC as far as I know on the market, I have been flying it myself for over 2 years plus all the beta tester since over 18 months, I think you guys will like it.

But going by the other scorp ESC the 130A version will be more like Jive 80HV not the powerjazz.

I don't know if I would buy one since the 6S 90 amp didn't last but two flights and Innov8tive has had it for so long I've lost track of when I sent it, not a word from anyone. Too bad because their programming tool is pretty neat.
Some of the Beta testers have good reports and some not so good.

Returned ESC
Stanc,

We received a 90 amp ESC a while back that was from a company called Real Time Automation in Texas. Is that your ESC? If so, it arrived with no return address information or RMA form, so we had no idea what to do with it. It has been sitting on a shelf here waiting for the owner to claim it. If it is yours, let me know and we can get it taken care of for you.

Looks like this was a worth while thread, we got great info on the ESC, thanks George, and looks like we reunited stanc with his misplaced ESC.

Thanks George I'm in the que for the ESC but living in the UK it will probably take months to get here at a good price so I shall be ordering from Lucien.

Thanks Guys

Apart from the easy set up with the IR card, which I already use on my REX250, will there ever be a PC interface for set up and more important to allow the user to upgrade later revisions of software at home rather than returning to Scorpion?

Although personally I do not like the Castle ESC's much, the USB link software is a great idea, and for me this is the Jive's weak point, especially for the high $$$$$$$$$$.

It states on the Scorpion website the 12s 130A ESC does not have a BEC but if you look at the second photo you can clearly see two servo style leads exiting the ESC???

That is probably for programming the ESC with the Card.

Yes but you have to plug the module into the ESC to facilitate this.

I guess you can leave it on the model permanently or plug it in just when you need to program.

The IR module fits between the ESC lead and the RX itself. Yes you can leave it plugged in as they have a switch for normal use or programming.
