CSM Mounting Help
I have had some drifting issues with my CSM 720 which I am trying to resolve. The heli is well balanced and engine tuned well so I think it may be a mounting issue.

I know these gyros have to be mounted in a certain way to stop drift and wobble. So far I have used the recommended system CSM pads in different combinations with metal plate. It either wobbles as to losse or I get drift

I was wondering what other people have done to get a successful mount. What size pads have you use?Metal plate or not? What make of pads?

To hard and the gyro drifts...to soft and the gyro wobbles through pitched manouvours.

I have a gel type zeal like tape on its way, futaba 401 pads, csm pads and spartan pads to try.

The gyro is on a Knight 3D at present.

I had the same problem on my trex 700. Duncan osburn came to NZ recently & played with mine, what he did was to remove the metal plate & the csm sponge tape from the bottom. Dont use zeal tape its ok vertically but it easily twists in a sideways rotation, if that makes sense. I am now just using a couple layers ofdouble sided tape & then retuned my motor now its great.

What type of double sided tape did he use and what size?

Was it similiar to gy401 pads or was it thinner like servo tape?
