Looks solid! I didn't hear any bogging at all. How were the temps? Any data on amp draw?

hey, very impressive, one of the things Ive always injoyed, the sound, the feel, and the power to the blades in cyclic and in pitch that comes from a HV system. if you look at any 6S 5000 setup and listen to this one, you can hear the difference as well as feel a big performance change. Smoothness at its best , even the ZMotor which I dont care for acted great. the other thing Amp draw, my guess , it should be low, on this flight , I bet you didnt hit 40 peak amps, Amp draw low means longer flight times . Also you see action , it gets to point A to point B faster, a slight bogging 6S system that bogs is loosing its action

Well a good alternative if you allready have packs in the 2600mah fashion for sure, but I would not say that has more power then my 4025-1100 on 6S to be honest.

Shawn, well it would be nice to see you try a HV system, all you can do it guess about it
yeh! 12S on a 550 is rare, 10S 2700s in stick form would work too .

Im interested in this setup, just because it would be "free" pack-wise when you got a L400

I think I might have to try it.

Volts * amperes = watts. 6s 5000 is roughly equivalent in max available watts to 12s 2500. There are however, distinct advantages in hv setups.

What motor are you using for this 12S L500?

The heli belongs to a friend the report he gave me is.

With the throttle maxxed out, RPM is 2450 at first lift off which settles to about 2280 after a couple of minutes hovering. The biggest peak I have managed is 2975W which only bogged it to 2145. In the video, the governor is set to give 2170.

I calculate the flight in the vid could have been about 4.5 minutes for 80% of the packs. When I fly it, I get 5 mins as I tend to fly about a bit in between bouts of crazy stuff. With a pair of 6s 3200 packs, it does 6mins for about 2400mAh. I haven't bothered with the temperature checker as it's obvious that nothing gets even slightly hot.

I put this setup together to see if it is possible to use two packs from a 430mm blade size model in the Logo500 with a cheap motor and ESC. OK, my ESC isn't exactly cheap, but a Castle HV45 would do the job.

The motor in his setup is a, zpower-V2 Z50 600kv

Even a Z30 800kv would work fine with a 9s setup on a Logo 500. The higher voltage the less C ratings needed on lipos and run much lower temps, other than that they both can produce same wattage and power. IMHO

Sorry to interrupt here just a small question:
Is 550mm blades ok on a standard L500 boom?

Yes 550 is fine. Rotortech 560mm also work very well
