Miniature actually has a tool to do this. All it is is a piece of delrin, level on the bottom with a 10mm hole. Slide it down on the shaft to the swash plate and level your links.

This is the older version, new version doesn't have the nylon bolt to anchor against the shaft, don't really need it, and is machinged out a little to make it smaller.

You can use that tool, but if you REALLY want to be accurate, place a pitch gauge on a paddle and set it to zero degrees with the paddles at 90 degrees to either the side of the model or as viewed from the nose or rear. Rotate the head with gauge in place at 90 degree intervals and reread the pitch in the same paddle. When the reading stays at 0 degrees when viewed from both sides and front and rear, the swash is dead level. Ron Lund's flybar lock works this way as well. NOTHING is more accurate than these two methods, because anything that goes against the swash makes the erroneous assumption that the inner and out rings of the swash are perfectly machined and running dead true to each other. I can assure you that this is often not the case. You wouldn't want to pay for a swash that was.........
