This is my first large heli and first shaft driven tail, and I need some advice.

I have a Vigor CS and am rebuilding everything aft of the frame. I have new shafts, gears and bearings for the tail case. I see how the mesh between the two metal bevel gears in the tail case is adjusted by where you set the grub screws on the spacer between the bearings on the input shaft.

How tight do I set the mesh??? Do I use the old scrap of paper between the gears trick? That seems very loose in this application...

Also, is white lithium grease appropriate for these gears?

Thanks,
- Doug

The way that i set mine and it has always worked for me is to run what ever gear is adjustable just out far enough that when you move the gear there is very little play. i have tryed to use the paper trick and have never got it to work for me but everyone is different and has the way the works for them im just telling you mine. hope this might help.

Trying not to put them in the dirt.
