I have tried many things and am starting to go out of my mind a bit with this.
I'm trying to get a DSX9 hooked up to a DX7 to help a buddy out down the field. Whatever configuration i set the trannys up in I cannot get the gyro to work when control is sent over to the training TX. The gyro is as if it cant initialize and drifts the tail full lock to one side, let go of the trainer switch and gyro works perfect again. I've tried connecting DSX9-9XII, 9XII-9XII, 9XII-DX7, DSX9-DX7 and all the same.

I have now tried connecting up with 4 differemt helis with 611, sparten and 401 gyros all with the same result.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Could it possibly be a bad lead cant see how but just thinking thats the only thing that has not been changed.

My heli works as an ornament.......at least it stays in one piece!!!

You may have to give it a click or two on the rudder trim. I have had the same problem on a couple of futaba TX'S,i gave it i click or two of trim on the buddy box and that fixed it. Give it a click and watch the light on the gyro, and trim it until the light becomes solid.

Having done this with 2 DX7's
1 is master tx and one is slave
the student holds the slave while the teacher holds the upper left trainer button
the setting's won't change

innitiate model first then plug in slave

I don't know just how spectrum works but i did have to trim my buddy box about two clicks on the rudder to get the gyro to go solid. It took me a week to figure out this problem. I was using a 12Z master and a 12FGH slave so i thought the trims should be center on both TX'S but i had to trim the rudder two clicks to get the gyro to lock in HH. I just setup a buddy box the other day using two 7C's and i had to trim the rudder on the slave 7C to get the gyro to lock. I could not get it to work on the 7 and then i remembered that i had to trim my 12FGH to get it to lock so i tried that and it worked. Try it it might just work.

Thanks and hope this helps

Are you saying trimming the rudder did not help?

That's weird, because my buddy had a dx7 and we used my 9303 to buddy box and never had that issue. I would use his dx7 as the master(because it had his programming) and he would use my 9303 as the trainer. I always used the training mode that left me in control of all the switches and he just had control of the sticks. The only thing i think i ever had to change was servo direction.

Did you set up a model on your radio for use only when buddy boxing? I was buddy boxing two different people with dx7's and when i would switch from one guys setup to the other i would have to reverse servo directions.

Maybe the training mode you are using allows the buddy box to control the switches? Or maybe you are not getting the correct training mode for both radios. I know i had to switch between them until i got one to work right.

All figured out now, well kind of. Decided that we would try it and see what happens with the tail in flight and it all worked as it should, but on the ground it still flashes the initializing light and drifts to full left.

So seems the problem was not necessarily a problem.

Cheers for info and help guys.
