I flew Trex long time. So, I kept several broken tail booms.
Most of the boom were pretty good situation with partial minor damage.
So I didn't throw it away and saved for a long time.

Today I had some time so, I just connected several broken tail boom and made few reuseable carbon tail boom. (someone may tell me, just buy, yeah that's true but, you know these days economic situation )

It's very rigid and weigh just 17g (original carbon tail boom 15g / alminium tail boom 20g) not bad. Today I made 4 reusable carbon tail boom from several broken tail boom. Just a pastime for my off day.

2. Fixing bended main mast (added at 04/07/09)
Fixed 15 masts(Whole day job )

A+ for thriftyness....

but I wonder about the structural integrity, as it looks like you epoxied pieces(?)to join the booms. If you had used a piece of carbon or alum tube that would slide over the old tube with a nice fit, and epoxied it, then you would really have a nice replacement...
just my .02

Good comments.
But,I used CA to join the pieces. Carbon piece with CA is the best choice.
If you try, you can find how rigid it is. epoxy is not good choice.

that I did not know. Cause they use epoxy to impregnate the carbon fiber cloth into the stiff carbon fiber we like to use. That's why my first guess was epoxy and not CA. But I have not tried either glue in rejoining any carbon fiber....
