I noticed that the drop from 11.1v to 10.3v is very fast. Not sure what is the minimum voltage that is safe?

Thinking of changing to Li-ion..any advice?

Two things:

1) It is an eight cell pack. The "nominal voltage" is 9.6 volts. The 11.3 volts displayed right after charging is a "surface charge" and it will drop to 10.2 or 10.3 volts very rapidly. This is not an indication of "bad" batteries and is normal. You can fly down to 9.6 volts (and probably lower, but I would never do that).

2) The charger that comes with the 12X appears to be a peak detecting charger. It charges at a high rate then shuts off (or, at least appears to per the LED indicator) after the battery hits a "peak" voltage.

Mine appears to register "false peaks" with the stock charger. I have also noticed that, with the stock charger, after it registers that the battery is fully charged and appears to shut off, if I unplug it and connect it again, it starts charging, sometimes for hours.

Using the charger from the DX7 (150 mah charge rate), I am getting somewhat longer times between charges than with the stock charger.

Stick with the Nimh that comes with the 12x, I use mine for gliding as well, and logged 3 1/2 hours air time today.

Not sure if mine is faulty..When I full charge, the voltage drops so fast to 10.6 or 10.4..

Sometimes after long usage into the 10.1v, when I get it charge with my T15 charger, the charger beeps telling me full charger after 5 min..When I try to plug in and re charge, I can charger for 1 hours or so..

disconet the cable from the square box as well, not only from the Radio,
this changes the lighting secuence and garanties to give your Tx a good charge.

Yes, the light blinks in two different fashions !!
steady and flashy.

Is it the best JR could have come out with ? I do not think so !

Nevertheless a Radio with a LiPo type of battery sounds like a shore to me, imagine you went to fly and only managed to fly once!, now you have to come home and discharge it !

Regular voltage is 9.6 Volts and when battery charge is not high enough the Radio will let you know with some beeps, do not worry and
just land your ship.

Stick to the 12X battery, it is a good one.

My two cents.

Can we change the cell inside the battery box in the 12x?

If yes, what are you using?
