The NE HELI CREW Scale Event is being held in Mansfield, MA on Sunday, June 14th, 2009. See below for the exact address and directions.

I joined the NEHC this year and have volunteered to help organize the event. This Fun Fly will be a scale only event. There will be no landing fee. That's right. Participation in the event is free, and flying is open to all AMA members. We will be cooking on-site, and the food will be available for very reasonable prices. The field will have electric charging stations by the time the event happens, and this will facilitate all of our battery charging needs.

We're not planning any contests for this event. We'd like to encourage everyone interested in scale helicopters to attend and just have a good time. There's no pressure! Just bring your helicopters, eat, fly, and B.S. a little.

This is the first scale event that the club has hosted. I hope you will join us and help make the event a success.

Address:
The entrance to the field is located across the street from 408 Elm St., Mansfield, MA 02766.

Directions:
•Take I-95 to exit 7A - 140 South towards Mansfield.
•Travel 2.3 miles and take a right onto School St. It'll be the second set of lights after Home Depot.
•Travel 1.6 miles and School St. turns into Elm St. You'll see a large shopping center being put in on your left.
•Travel .6 miles and the entrance will be on down a banking on your right. If you see Coach Road on your left you went to far.

If you have questions about the event, feel free to send me a note: joel@helitronix.com

Access the club's web site here: http://www.nehelicrew.com/

I look forward to seeing you there!

It's going to be fun. I'll bring my tele-lens to capture these great birds in the air.

It's time to blow the dirt off my 50 sized MD500E and get ready for this.

I have a suggestion. How about posting the pictures of your scale here in this thread if you plan to attend this event.

Let me start with my scale

I don't have a scale ship (yet). I sure hope that doesn't mean I can't admire everyone else's

Brian,

The event is open to spectators. So, please do come even if you don't have a scale ship. You'll get to drool over the helicopters you do see, and maybe it will encourage you to get one for yourself.

I hope to see you there.

I totally want to get into scale flight; I don't see myself as a 3D guy, and I love helicopters of all types - full-scale or RC. One of these days I'll have a scale machine even if I have to hover it in the driveway!!

Currently I have a thought to put an AS-350 fuse and a 3-blade head on my King2 - the 2-blade tail would be prototypical...

Depending on the weather, I plan to make a day of it learning all I can and meeting many folks.

I'll try to make it with my 500E. If my A109 is done or close it'll come but I took the Cobra apart for a rebuild and repaint.

I'll be attending as well. I hope to have a MD500E in flyable shape by the time it rolls around, but if not I'll come and spectate. New to scale, lots of questions, love to admire the work of others.

BTW, what other good heli (scale, fun fly, 3d) events are upcoming in the new england area?
