While flying today , I was talking away to my friend and another boy next to me also flying and talking .

I did not even here my timer go off , I was so relaxed doing light 3d and not really paying full attention

Next minute I looked the blades had just about stopped and the engine had cut (run out of fuel:eekthey were going so slow , I shoved a load of negative in to try and get the blade speed back up , about 20 foot off the deck the speed had not increased much I banged the positive pitch in but it did not seem to lose speed as it was heading for death.

It hit the grass very hard , I expected to see a right off heli in a mess.

I was amazed it broke a link on the blades grips and snapped both of the white plastic under carrage .

Ive just fixed her up and given her a good going over .

Very impressed !!!!!!!

I lesson learnt today but glad my 700 came out as she did

thats good to hear the damage was not extensive considering it crashed...

I was at B-ham a few weeks ago and saw several 700 try and make the ditch deeper

they were all back up in a matter of minutes.

Thats one drawback of a 90 size heli. They have a tremendouse amount of hang time, from what I'm hearing, but takes allot longer to get those blades going again. A 50 on the other hand is about the opposite. Not as much hang time in comparison, but quicker to recover. My hats of to you though... blade stop from 20 feet? I can't even pull that off with my 50...LoL. A similar thing happened to a buddy of mine on his 700 when ran it too low on fuel but autoed safely. I was suprised how quick this thing sucks fuel. It seemed like he just filled it up. Something I have to keep in mind when I get mine. Glad you walked out of this one with minimal damage.
