Perceived reasoning: Spectrum does not frequency hop, and nasty little Chinese video transmitters happen to flood the first choice 2, 2.4 channels that the JR radio initializes too.
Did you do the same test with a futaba system to see what happens.

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE..IF YOU LIVE IT RIGHT THATS ALL YOU NEED

Indeed yes, Futaba and XPS were not effected.

Also The spectrum was fine if the video transmitter was turned on first.

even if I don't see it as an immediate threat.
Totally, I'm pretty sure devices are 2.4 ghz are not supposed to do those things, at least not within the authority of the FCC. So theoretically there should never be a problem in the US.

*edit .. hahah, sorry I just realized your in the UK, so i haven't a clue

Here is a write-up that a fellow in my plank club did for all the old guys who don't do Google searches. Doesn't document the shoot-down, but if your on RR all day anyway you might like the read.

DS8717, it's interesting that you make the point that because the Futaba channel hops it's more resistant to interference from outside sources than the JR/Spectrum system. This makes perfect sense to me and I have to say certainly helps Futaba gain some ground in my eyes against JR. If only Futaba would do a data recorder and a couple of satelite aerials I would be really happy that. I am going to try and find out more about how each system works with it's plus and minus points as this is all a bit new to me. As you say range isn't everything.... But data logging is good concise feedback that lets you know the health of your system whilst you fly, the Futaba needs this to compete I believe.
