What Pinecone meant was that the bind plug MUST be connected to the Battery/Bind connection on the radio. It can be through a 3 wire extension or a 3 wire Y-connector, but it cannot connect to "any" channel on the radio as it sounded like you were saying:
You can use a Y connector to any channel and just run the Female outside and leave it there, I did this on my 500 where the RX is difficult to get to the connectors.
I now understand that isn't what you meant, but it sounds like you claimed the Y-connector could go to any channel and the bind plug could plug into one side of the Y. That would not work.

I can understand the need for an easily accessible bind connection in the heli if you are having to keep binding on a regular basis (but why?) I have not needed to rebind my Spektrum for over three months!Rod
