Hello Everyone,

I have some trouble with my futaba 401 and would like to know if anyone has any advice. Here the scenerio.

Thanks in advance.

Euipment being used:
futaba 401 new 2 days old
Trex 450
JR 12x 2.4 tranny with Spektrum 6100

Apon power up the gyro sometimes will initialize to Heading Hold. When it funally locks in as soon as i run to heli up on the ground the light doesnt stay solid and tail control is non existent. When the blades come to a stop again the light turns solid again and tail control resumes. When the heli gets light it gets nuts in the yaw function. It seems to me the gyro is getting noise somehow and this is taking it in and out of initialization.

Things i have checked.

Direction is correct both servo and gyro
oiled all metal to metal areas
also i am thinking it could be the receiver, possibly the speed control or motor. Have not switched anything out as of yet.

Put the gyro in heading hold and rebind, that will solve the first problem.

Disconnect the motor and run the throttle stick up and down and see if the light starts flashing, if it does you have revo mix enabled.

Flip the flight mode switch to all modes and make sure you dont have trim thats different from one flight mode to another.

happened to me a few days ago. changed everything involved in tail control and left the servo replacement as the last resort because of the pain in wire routing and tidying up..

it was the tail servo. doh!

I posted an answer in the other place you asked this same question. http://runryder.com/t505695p1/ I essentially agree with BarracudaHockey's suggestion to rebind with Tx in HH mode. It just took me a whole lot more words to say the same thing.

Hey Barracuda,

I tried your suggestions and unfortunately, it is a no go!

do you think the tail servo could be bad? It is a 3400g Jr tail servo, strange thing though it works when you plug in into any open channel on my planks! Other people on this forum have mentioned trying a new servo. I have a few 8411s laying around and i tried them but it didnt change.

Thanks Man!

Hello,

If anyone ever comes across this same prob with the same equipment I have figured it out.

The Spektrum AR6100 went belly up! I have four of them in all my parkflyer stuff, switched it out and the problem vanished!

Thanks for all of you input!

Happy Flying....
