Here is a cut and paste from the Futaba forum on RCU.

"The new receiver is the same size/weight as the old one. However it does have two modes of operation. The “normal mode” is the same mode that the R608FS had. However the HS “high speed” mode improves the frame rate on channels 1-6 to only 7ms (normal mode is 14ms).

When in the HS mode you MUST use digital servos on these six channels, this includes the BLS line. Gyros, brushless ESCs will also work on these channels. Channels 7 and 8 remain able to work with any servos at 14ms.

Modes are changed at the receiver using the EasyLink™ button. Nothing has to be done at the transmitter.

The HS mode is on channels 1-6 and you MUST use digital servos on those outputs in this mode.

Here is the stock number and suggested list price:

FUTL7639 R6008HS 2.4GHZ FASST RX 8CH US$199.9

This can be ordered through any hobby retailer who sells Futaba systems and accessories.

They should be available in the next 3-4 business days (for real!)"

John(JKOS), please measure the latency with R6008HS + T10C. I'm looking forward to seeing how the result will be. Will the latency be lower than DX7se or not?

Anyone can tell me how about other brands frame rate especially, the Sprectum and JR. It seems this frame rate is still slower than JR and sprectum.

Thanks Doug, I've been looking for that info.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

Will use this one on my new SDX. Will test flight tomorrow. I just noticed the jittery noise coming from my Futaba S9255 servos are less, comparing them on my other machine that is on a PCM receiver.

Futaba included a set-up sheet on the package. It's really simple-

with the receiver off, to change modes to/fro normal/high-speed, press the set-up/mode button while power up the receiver.

the LED indicator also shortly indicates in which mode the receiver is, during power-up.

Hope Futaba comes up with telemetry soon

Another version in japan now...
NEW! R6014HS Receiver:
R6014HS is a new version 2.4Ghz Receiver from Futaba. It could be operated in Normal Mode or High Speed mode. The Normal Mode accepts any type of servos or the peripherals as the frame rate of the output is 14ms. The High Speed Mode accept the digital servos for outputs from 1ch to 6 ch, including BLS Series, and most peripheral equipments such as the gyro or brushless ESCs. The frame rate of the outputs is 7ms. The R6014HS is comptaible with the Fasst Transmitters with TM8 ( on 8Ch mode), TM10 (on 10Ch Mode), TM14 (on multi-ch mode)

Time for Jkos!

So the latency reduction is in the receiver...

I am interested to know as well. The latency reduction is in the receiver, how about the performance of full cycle from Tx to Rx? particularly the 10CG with 6008.

If you don't run a digital servo on the throttle, could you mix channel 3 to the one of the slower channels and plug your servo in there? (Just a straight mix.)

Yes, you can make channel 7 or 8 your throttle channel. I think if you use the 12FG 12Z, the system will automatically assign channel 6 or 7 for throttle.
