I've been using this Scorpion motor for a few months now and I simply LOOOOVEE it!
Use a 13T pinion. I tried a 12 and it bucked like crazy for lack of headspeed. However, if you really want to feel what it can really do couple it with a Scorpion V2 ESC either the 55 or 60 A will do a great job. Do take time to explore the governor mode, please. I've tried, oh so many, different motors. From stock to Align and a few others, none pleased me more than the Scorpion, in terms of power (I've never bogged the motor and my pitch range is +12,0,-12. Tried this setup with 320 CF blades, climbout is crazy, with a blade fart when u hit max pitch. My tachoed rpm is 2850 Normal and 3100 Idle Up - Governeor Mode keeps this rpm regardless what load I put on the pitch.
Keep your drivetrain totally smooth tho' or it may get hot for your batt. The tail belt should be a little loose, but nit til you sliup it in a throttle punch. The motor and esc cools down in a minute after a 5 min flight.
Good luck and have fun with your new motor. It was a great choice, believe me.
PS: U might want to use hardened steel pinions tho, the motor works it hard.
