Looking to pick up a front mount for a stretched T600..
I know about a few like PhotoShipOnes's...

Does anyone have a list of other manufacturers that make Trex 600 Front mounts...

I don't have the time to whip one up...

Thanks for any help

Jody at Helicam Solutions has one. I saw it in action at the AP meet in Texas last October. Really smooth.

What is the best Trex 600 front mount? Triax Lite or PhotoShip One?
I didn't find the weight of the Triax Lite...

Smooth flying, good subject manner, good light, good editing, good post productions skills.

As far as I know they are both undergoing field tests at the moment so there is no hard and fast answer to your question. To my mind they are both excellent products

I just asked this question because at the moment I can compare the price:
- Triax Lite is $1235 and soon $1450
- Photoship One 3X Pan Tilt Roll is $599 (not available at the moment...)

So... what is the big difference between both? (Ok there is one gyro additional on the Triax.. but is that all?)

May be able to get a second hand Askman T-Rex 600 front mount too. I have been very happy with mine, though I only use if for stills nowadays...

Track... you forgot to list THE most important factor with front mounts.

An extremely well tuned and balanced helicopter. An absolute must.

Video from a front mount on a heli that is not precisely balanced is horrendous. It should be noted that you don't just buy our mount, HCS, CF, Traix, etc, bolt it on and expect it to be flawlessly vibe free. That can and does happen but it's the exception not the rule. It'll take a bit of fiddling to get it smooth.

However, once you get everything working properly, front mounts are Zen.

What is the difference?.... Well both mounts in my opinion are good choices. The difference for the TRIAX|lite is what it was designed to do from the ground up, HD video with large HD camera's.
I'll PM you

I thought a certain amount of voodoo was involved too.

When comparing the test footage available on Triax and photo ship One's web pages, the 2XPS1 with Futaba gyros seems to deliver a much more stable image than the Triax lite + cms. Coming from an expensive servo stabilized mount, the Triax video isn't impressive at all in my opinion.

The 2XPS1, on the other hand, has no roll control/stabilization.

So after a year of testings and conclusions would anybody like to give a more details about this thread? IMO I think the triax looks better but i think 2x is more twikable thus you can get better results out of it. I currently don have neither of the 2 but leaning on the 2X for my future purchase for a couple of reasons.

1) Lighter (Correct me if i am wrong)
2) Half price than Triax
3) No need for custom fitting for my trex 600

How high does it fly? How fast? How far?..... Read the FAQ on my t-shirt and let me fly FGS!!!

There are more 3-axis products on the horizon, and at a reduced cost point.
