I'm looking for a heli for inside flying for when the weather is crummy. I don't have a huge space but a pretty big living room with high ceilings. So, what are your guys favorites for a micro inside heli?

the blade mcx is fun but it is so easy you can lose interest. I now have added a walkera 4 3b brushless to my collection. Its a blast, and will keep you on your toes!

I put the fun in dysFUNctional :)

Funny you mention both of those, a buddy brought each of them over this last week. The MCX was fun but I definatly could see how you can lose interest pretty fast. The Walkera was terrible, maybe it just needs some flybar weights but it was all over the place. I only flew it once, didn't really like it but maybe I could get used to such a small micro?

I'm hoping to find a happy middlepoint between those two, if there is such a thing...

I have a Blade MCX as well. It is fun for a while, but the slow forward speed and typical Co-Axial Forward Momentum slowdown deal irritates me. It is fun for company to fly though.

You might look at a new one that should be out soon by Heli-Max, the Novus CP http://www.helimax-rc.com/helis/nov...s-cp/index.html.

I have not seen any reviews on it yet, but I think it will be a similar ballpark to the Blade MCX maybe a bit more expensive. It could be a lot of fun for messing around Indoors.

the walkera takes a little getting used to... the response seems slow, so you really have to stay ahead of it, also one over correction leads to many more, at least for me

I hate to say it cause I swore that I would never buy another helimax but that Novus looks pretty cool for an indoor flyer. I can't believe it's a CP heli as it's tiny.

Does the Heli-Max stuff have a bad reputation? Agreed that the little CP Novus looks like it could be fun!

I had two of them a few years back and I swore that I would never buy another Helimax product. My problems were either the ESC cutoff in-flight and bad motors. I also had parts fly off in flight but I wasn't that good at building back then so that might have been my fault.

The helimax Coax looks kinda cool too for some "lazy" flying.

The Heli-Max Novus and Walkera 4G3 are the same heli

Here's some vids of the 4G3

I have the mCX and although it's very livingroom friendly it's also quite boring

the MCX it really great fun, but you need to add some nose weight to ity and give it more cyclic thro, move the arms out a hole! then set up some games, put small objects on the tv, or a shelf and pick them up with the skids and place them someplace else, or take a grocery bag and cut the bottom out of it to make a tunnel to fly thru! our clubs last indoor fun fly we had 4 small 10inch bicycle innertubes attached to 12inch tall cones and placed them 2feet apart and flew thur them, then staggered them and had timed races, much harder then it sounds.

Put my vote in for the mcx

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

What type of small heli you talking about?
I recently got to check out a Gaui 200.Loved it.
It's about 15" long.It's very very 3D capable too.

I literally never use the word literally right.

The Buzzflyer looks the same as the Walkera 4#3 which is the old fixed pitch version of the 4G3 - There's a thread around on the 4#3 - Try a search

I guess when we talk "Couch Flyer" I figure we are talking about something you could somewhat safely fly and crash in your home.

I don't consider the TRex 250 or Gaui 200 in the category, they could do a heck of a lot of damage if you ran them into something (speakers, TV, flooring, cats, kids etc.)

Yeah, you're right. The Gaui and Trex would be a bit much.
The Lil Walkera helis are still cool though. The 4#3 will bounce off walls with little or damage to the heli or the wall.
The 4G3 looks cool but I don't have any experience with it.

I have hovered my Trex 500 in my living room before though.
I don't recomend it though.lol...
