Since a few of you E-Sky guys also fly the MT, I thought I would get your trusted advice rather than over at the MT thread (not that I wouldn't get good advice over there. I prefer to ask you guys). Below is my setup.

- TT "Ripper" OBL 29/35-10H Motor
- Ace BLC-40A ESC
- Heli Direct 3A 5V/6V Switch-Mode UBEC
- Ace C1016 Servos on Cyclic
- Futaba S3154 Digital Servo on Tail
- XM Hobbies G401B Gyro
- Spektrum AR6100 Receiver/DX7 Transmitter
- Align 325mm PRO Rotor Blade (Red/White)
- Precision CNC Upper Mixing Arms (cnchelicopter.com)
- Zippy Flightmax 11.1v 2200mAh 20C Lipo

All other parts will be stock. So, any advice on parts, setup, etc? By the way, my kit came with two pinions...13T and 15T. I'm assuming that I should probably use the 13T? Thanks.

There great flying heli's,the only problem is the tracking issues.I went with the green hard dampers and solved thatDid you get the spacers for the blade grips,O and blade grip tension is also funny.Loose but not to lose, and I still have a wooble spooling up and down but not a shimmy in the air

Fly it have fun..

The battery might be a little weak if you fly it hard.

thats a great set up,should do well for you

about the pinions,I belive the 15T is the 2.3mm shaft so it wont even fit on your motor.if you dont need insane headspeed go with an 11T or 12T.I ran an 11T for a LONG time(well over a year) and it was perfect for sport flying, long runtimes and cool elec.I only went to 12T when I started with flips and rolls, loops and such

edit... now that I think about it,its been almost 2 years.my kit came with a 10T 2.3 a 13T and a 15T I think the 15T is for running a 2s lipo which NO ONE has done yet,that I know.but with that motor(stock TT)and 3s, 13T will be plenty of headspeed

I would grab a set of the steel pinions. They don't wear at all and are worth every penny. Plus that would give you an 11T and 12T to play with. I started my Mini with an 11T and for sport flying it is just fine. Nowadays I run 13T on my Rex (same gearing) and love it but that might be a little hard on your batteries.

The Mini has a larger rotor span than a Rex450 by about an inch. Because of this you can run a lower head speed and still get the same performance. So again I would suggest starting with a 11T and working up from there.

I would go with a mid sized servo on the tail. Something like a DS520 or a s9257. If you watch the classifieds you can pick one up a 9257 for like $40. Of course it is not required but seeing as a new DS520 only costs $15 more than a 3154, it is well worth the extra as it is a much better servo.

Other than that I think you will be happy with the setup. There are a few tweaks that are popular but in stock form it should fly well for you.

Which green dampers are you referring to? I don't see any green dampers for the MT. Are these green dampers from another heli? Thanks.

Thanks. So, I'm assuming the Green TrueBlood Trex 450 V2 Super Hard Dampeners are the ones I need?

They can't be, the Rex450 V2 has a 4mm spindle.
