hey guys, i just took of my trusty Futaba 9254 tail servo and threw on the 3400g. The reason i did this was because of a CG issue, needed a lighter servo.

well i installed it, put the ball at 10mm, adjusted everything to 90 degrees, and changed the limit pot to around 70%. Went to go fly it and got a terrible bounce back.(25 degrees) Gain is set at 20%

Went back inside, changed the ball to 9mm. Same thing happened. Now its at 8.5mm with the limit pot maxed out(100%) and i still get a bounce back, not as violent but a solid 10 degrees.

So whats wrong, is the servo not fast enough, not enough torque, or do i have something wrong in my set-up?

Have you tried playing with the gyro gain up or down?.you could also raising the ball link up a hole or down the servo arm.JR 3400g should be good cause i've used it before and it was fine to certain extent manuvers.im using Spartan DS760 w/9254 tail servo and the CG is fine. you just gotta adjust your batteries down a bit from the battery tray.

im sorry but did you not read me whole post, i stated numerous times that i changed the ball location...

CG even when the batteries are at the lowest part on the trail the heli is still tail heavy and it is extremely important on a FBL heli to have the CG exact.

why would gain have anything to do with bounce back?

I have this servo on my tail/Trex 450. I did drill hole close to center to help pot limit. other than that it works good. It was acting funny at one time after a crash and I replaced the gear set. Its plenty fast enough, using on digital also on my gy401.

Check your gears on the servo, just grab the servo arm and move it and see if you feel skipping. If thats ok then sounds like your setup.

when i mentioned playing with the gain is because when you put a different servos your gain changes also.now since you mentioned you have a FBL trex500 thats a different story.FBL tends to want more speed/tork.i would put a 3500mg cause it has everything what your FBL looking for and also my fly buds have them with there FBL trex500.i'll post a video soon with that setup FBL.

i doubt FBL would have any significant effect on my tail. why would i need a tail servo with more speed and torque because i went FBL??

the only thing that changed was my head speed went from 2700 to 2800rpm...so i had to lower the gain a couple clicks.

I have used a 3400 on my 500 with great success. Not once did I ever had a problem

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!
