How is the TTR CarryMaster Combo (TTR1263)? Is it a good quality piece to get into nitros with or is it better to buy everything individually?

I just bought it for my Raptor 30. I love it, but the glow plug wrench is too small to even fit in the Raptor!

That TT kit is a very entry-level piece of gear.

I would say 90% of it, at one point or another, will go away & be upgraded to something better.

Before you know it you'll have a nice wooden box, nice electric fuel pump, super high torque cordless starter on 18v...

The TT kit will no doubt get you in the air now, but a year from now, maybe not.

If you can swing the cost, check out this SWEET COMBO

Mt two pence worth is that the TT system is dangerous. You should not be storing fuel and an ignition source in that proximity.
But hey.....just my opinion.

It just looks like it is compact and convenient.I don't want anything dangerous or low quality.

I like mine. I'm planning on doing some mods to add a power pannel to it so I can quick charge the glow lighter.

I have heard that you need to keep an eye on the fuel jug cap, it is prone to leaking.

I had the TT combo & it was really convenient at first. The fuel jug constantly leaked fuel, not much, but enough to notice wetness once opened. After about 4 months, I upgraded to a Hangar 9 wooden box (assembly required) & I love it. I also upgraded to a sullivan starter, sullivan electric fuel pump (streamer). I agree that the TT sounds/looks attractive, but if you can afford to spend more up front, do so.

I would buy things individually. You need a box, fuel pump, fuel can/bottle fittings, starter, starter wand, glo-plug ignitor, 12v 7amp battery, chargers for your batteries, and field tools. Pick the brands you want. If I have major problems with my heli, I fix it at home. So the tools I carry in my box are for field repairs or adjustments. Nothing wrong with a cardboard box to carry your stuff until you figure which items you want. Look at the Post your Field Box thread for ideas.
