There is nothing wrong with a Hyperion Duo ... well except it can only charge up to 6s, and it costs nearly twice as much as a Cellpro 10S, and it can only charge 6s packs at 7A, and it lacks several handy features like internal resistance and the ability to plot charge curves on your computer. I guess it will charge a pair of 6s packs at once but you know ... now that I think about it ... so will a pair of Cellpro 10S chargers.

I would recommend subscribing to the email list so you can get the coupon emails and grabbing up a Cellpro 10S.

I've owned a pair of TP 1010C for a couple years and they have treated me very well.

However if I was to buy another today I would go for the Hyperion EOS0610I Duo II without a doubt. It's two 6S chargers in one, or a single 12S charger. Two of those and you can charge four packs up to 6S at once.

yeah but then you are talking about a 600.00 dollar charge set up,without a power supply

I was just checking out some of the hyperion stuff and they had an update about their new lipo batts comming out,up to 5C charge rate for the batteries, man things are moving along nicely now

I wouldn't trade my TP-1010C and TP balancer for either the Hyperion or the Cellpro 10S.

I really like the Bantam BC8 also. Being able to charge 4 3s packs at the same time is handy. You can charge 2 8s packs at once also.

The BC8DX costs $360! Yup now you have actually passed the cost of a pair of Cellpro 10S chargers. Not only will a pair of them charge up to 6 3s packs (with the right wiring) or a pair of 10s packs but having half again the wattage output, it will charge everything at a higher rate!

Sorry I just don't get why people are willing to spend that much money on a single charger when there is the Cellpro 10S out there. No it is not perfect but it is a hell of a charger at a great price!

Any decent charger will require a power supply. The only chargers with a built in power supply are ~50W. Assuming you're running 6S you'll want something much more powerful than 50W.

My TP-1010C is good for 220W.

Yup you are going to have to have both a charger and an adequate power supply to power it if you want to charge any bigger than a Trex 450 battery. That is just part of the deal.

I'm a geek.

I have:
2 x TP-1010C w/ TP-210V
1 x CellPro10S
1 x Bantam BC8DX

I have all of these on a Iota 55 Amp power supply through an MFJ power distribution box.

I like the TP-1010Cs, but the seperate balancers are a PITA
I like the CellPro10S... it can fix really out of balance packs better than any of the others. Can't charge a NiCd though.
I like the BC8DX... it does everything, including having a temp sensor for NiCd and NiMh batteries. Can charge 2 x 8S packs at once. Can't balance very fast though.

If I was to do it over... I'd get the BC8DX. I charge 2 x 8S packs on it at over 3 Amps without it breaking a sweat. Plus, I can take a single charger to the field and keep myself flying.

The beauty of the whole setup... I can wake up, see it's nice, and have 5 batteries ready to go for an hour of flying in 45 minutes. Kicks arse.

They were all acquired over 5 years. One of the TP-1010s is from the very first batch. It makes it a bit easier to stomach. I just got the power supply and BC8DX last month. If you can handle the cost, it's really 2 chargers in one... not a single charger.

The TP-1010C has only been on the market for a little over three years. I got one from the first batch of 100 as well.

I got the MaxPro X6Plus, fantastic charger with build in balancer and the best is the PC interface for graphing the charge or discharge curves. Graphs each individual cell, the entire pack, currents, temperature etc. Nice for comparing your packs after some time to see if it is still up to par or to see if you got a bad cell or something.
Great charger in my opinion.
