Is it just me or does it bother others when someone installs their skid struts on backwards. I know the RotorWay Executive are designed that way and my EP Cypher are that way, but when any kit manual clearly shows them angled forward and someone sticks them on angled rearward does it bother you? It looks like someone has their pants on backwards.
Just curious.

It bothers me too for some reason. Guys I fly with who do it claim their tail sits higher....whatever floats yer goat. To me, it just looks like they built it wrong.

T-Rex 450 SE V2 , T-Rex 600 NSP, Stryker F27 C....Yea, it's a plank.

I know it's their heli, but I feel like I have to say something. Like "hey man you have a booger hang from your nose and chick won't dig you if you insist on keeping it that way".

I hear the same excuses, guys say it is more stable and the tail sits higher. I just think it looks super goofy and you don't know how to build a heli

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

Maybe they think it makes the heli faster, like when Superman trails his arms back, I guess.

i wonder if they realize the reason struts are forward and make tail sag is people have a tendency to push fwd on the cyclic during takeoff and it needs extra support during that awkward lift phase when the heli is just taking off and putting it backwards just messes that all up o well

Most full scale helis and models have the skids angled forward. I think it is for foward landing stress on the skids, especially sliding autos.

Of course that makes him faster. Less drag if they aren't out in front of him. Makes him more aerodynamic. Geez.

Backwards skids is more like racing stripes on a car. Makes 'em go faster.

Yeah, it bugs me too, but whatever... If they want to build it wrong, then far be it from me to tell 'em how to do it right. What's the point? They never listen anyway.

Home made for strength. No forward or backwards for struts, only the skids will tell....
Hmmmm, mabe I shold turn one skid around, now that would be a queston grabber at flyins.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

backward facing skids is old school. Having the rear one on backwards and the front skids facing forwards is the new thing now with both being different colors. If going reverse bothers you, this will definately give you a complex.

But then its just a cap.....maybe I will start wearing mine backwards too then it wont be cool anymore.......and then you will stop doing it.

I like the skids facing forward on my evo, makes her look like she's going fast when she's hanging on the wall.

But then I do wear my pants low and my visor to the left.
