We are in our 50s. While RVing saw a great air show. My wife wants into sport. What is general opinion of most forgiving aircraft- best trainer. Home is CA coast, but we travel a lot. There are suppose to be many areas across the country where she could train. Thanks
Fire Fly.

IMO, A good start for her might be the one of the coaxial "ready to Fly" models, like the CX2.

the BEST trainer is a good simulator

1. you can fly whenever you want
2.crashing is cheap (free)
3. you can get a good idea of flyign a heli before committing the cash to buying one (Collective Pitch (meaning blades can go positive or negative pitch) or CP helis are EXTREMELY hard to learn on and expect a few crashs so buy something you can repair)

i suggest pheonix simulator
http://www.phoenix-sim.com/news.htm

fly on the sim for a few months till she can hover in all orientations upright this will save you alot of frustration and anger also make sure the heli you buy is set up nicely don't skimp on key components (gyro/Servos) as these GREATLY affect flying and most of all have fun

I agree with VooDooX about the sim. Then for my first heli, if I was to do it over again, I would NOT start with something small like CX2 or 450, I would go a little bigger and more stable like a 500 size. Just my 2 cents worth.

also i add that since you travel alot and probably wont get mail in a timely fashion and will want to fly alot get a helicopter that is VERY popular so parts will be easy to come by wherever you are

Firefly, even though you are on a heli site, you didn't specify whether you wanted an airplane or helicopter.
