there was just a post with a nitro that went up in smoke just yesterday.

They're the field owners it's their field time to play by the rules they set...

I have never actually seen a nitro burn-up due to engine stuff. Not saying it hasn't happened. Usually it is electric, or turbine. The worst part about nitros is if you don't fly off of something other than the grass, the oil can kill a ring when you are sitting on the ground.

The only problem Is their ruels don't allow me to play at all...

And yeah I saw the post on that, I even mentioned it in my above post

I also said in the above post that "There nothing I can do as it's their spot"

I was just asking about thoughts on the fire hazard of an electric VS a nitro

Thank you come again.

I'm sorry your attitude towards electric and their rules against Nitro is annoying at best.

You dont have to fly with them.

thank YOU come again.

They don't own any thing, It's just a spot where they meet up and fly.

Because I'm a nice guy and want to get to fly with these guys I'm not gonna fly..

forget the fire but the burns and spots from taking off and hovering over the lawn does some damage. we use to just turn our defelectors up rather then down. made the helis a mess after but didnt burn the ground either.

I keep my deflectors pointed up because I fly off dirt and dont like to stir up a bunch of dust on spool up..

Not to mention the brown spots make me feel like a prick..

So fire hazard or no?

Really it's a moot point, They don't want nitro= no nitro

That's why it's a rant

I've seen one helicopter crash and burn in my entire time flying helis, and it was a glow fuel heli, BUT, the ignition for the fire was from the shorted out flight pack battery.

None the less, by the time the fire department made it to the scene and extinguished the fire, it had consumed about 5 acres of grass.

The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.

I find it crazy myself and I am a electric guy, but I have almost 30yrs of nitro experience, never once saw a nitro fire, from either, planks, trucks, boats, or Heli's. and Lucky to never see a electric either! although i have seen some close calls on electrics. I have seen some strange looking spots in the grass though from nitro heli's!!

Yeah I've had nitro cars and trucks for years I never worried about fire. The cars and trucks are even worse becuse they are running around in the grass.

It just blows me away that people who are into this hobby can have such misconceptions..

Heck the lipos in my storage box are the things I worry about most.

I really need to get something better than a cardboard box to store my batterys in

Any who I'm off to try any fly the old Shuttle Zxx.

If they OWN the field, then you're bound to their rules, however misguided. If it's just "a field" where they fly, you are not really bound to any of their rules. PLUS, it's nearly impossible for a nitro to start a fire...lol.

That is a riot. It was the regulator that burned the heli to the ground. The fuel tank and its contents were still intact.

Sux about the field though. A lipo fire is WAY more dangerous and common than a nitro fire.

Still , it was a Nitro . Unless a Nitro can fly without electronics that point is mute.

Concerning the guys and thier rules though , just carry your electric and have fun... after you pre-rigged it to burn on impact that is . That'll show'em

Mr Mut, Where is T CA usa? You can pm me if you don't want to disclose it here.

I know I can just show up and fly, If I want to. It's fair to say that will be the last time I get invited to fly this this group tho...

As far as a nitro fire goes I can't even get fire in the engine

Yep, you're correct. I believe that if you are the spelling monitor that you should also begin a sentence with a capitol letter and it should be "it's.
