Gyro gain may be too high.

Engine may be too rich.

Or both.

Or your blades may be too tight? Both main and tail.

what is the distance from the center of your tail servo to the ball?
if after you try all above items you might need to shorten or lengthen the ball location and the readjust the gain. Also what is your head speed?

Also may want to check that your tail pitch slider is moving freely. Friend had the same kind of problem and we tried everything to find out the bushings in the slider arm were worn and making it do this. Hope it helps

well I guess your just gonna have to send it to me and go get another one there must be some weird thing with that one that defies logic. so send it to me I think I can live with its idiosyncrasies and the new one you get surly wont do it.

go back to square one start over and check all the things that were sugested and it will work

What is the rate set at in your radio then? It should be about 75% or so. If its not, try adding a little gain or decreasing but be sure its 50% or better or you will not have heading hold, less than 50 is rate mode. this is in the gyro sense mode on your radio.

i am looking at the instructions for my 401 and do not see where is says to set anything to 0. i may be missing it. in your gyro sense menu of the dx7, for your 401 you should start at about 75% gain. or if you are using the gear channel, set limit to +25. try that out, and let me know.

Stanleys tail problem (Trex 600n )
To all pilots who took the trouble to help me in my recent dilema i found that one of the tail rotor grips was not fully tightened on the shaft thus allowing one tail rotor to revolve on a slightly longer throw hence an out of balance rotor set up ! my heli is new and i did not check the rotor assembly before my first flight ! hope y
this may help any other pilots with shake problems (quick and easy to check )PS I now love my heli again THANX TO ALL & HAPPY FLYING
