is it always going to be hard to get trex 450 se v2 parts. I mean my lhs hardly carries any trex parts but they have all the blade 400 parts all the time why is this? almost thinking of going back to the p.o.s. blade 400. i really dont want to do this what do you think ? I know they have a new 450 pro out but I dont want to upgrade yet nor am I ready for the torque tube yet. will there be parts for the se's for a long time to come? or is it time to switch to another heli? I am relatively new to this hobby and I have to be honest crashing is no big deal but I havent had good luck with getting a heli that doesn't just fall apart out of the box. the blade 400 has very sloppy parts and a weak main shaft. I admitt I bought the trex 450se v2 airframe used but it is in like new condition and it is vibrating apart even with locktight. please help I need guidance as to what heli I should put my good equipment into to get the most out of this hobby.

blade 400 = all stock

Trex 450se v2 = brand new stock esc and motor , 3 hitec 65hb cyclic, futaba gy401 and 9257 tail. dx6i and ar6100e

The real problem is with your LHS. You can get 450 parts anywhere. You could order from GrandRC or other out of state hobby shop and not pay sales tax. That will offset the shipping costs. It will be at your door in 2-3 business days.

We haven't seen Colonel Angus around these parts for years!

Depends on what you are looking for, some parts have been discontinued, some have been replaced by updated parts, and some are still available, just have been on backorder from Align for a long time. For the most part, you should be able to service just about any of their models, with the older versions being a bit harder to find parts for.

Sometimes it's worthwhile to at least let your LHS know what you fly. If the store sees enough of a market with that type of heli if they are smart they will begin stocking parts.

Order from online store. Let your LHS know how much you spend on your rex parts and how fast you can get them. Maybe they will jump on the wagon. Almost every HS I find carries Align stuff. Its hard to belive that they dont seeing how much of the heli market Align has now.

Also get your local flying buds in on rexes. The increased demand is what they want.

Yeah, I have a V1 and have had some problems finding some parts. (linkage rod set) but after checking several web sites I found some. Heli hobby seems to have parts.... My advice to you is to buy several of the common crash parts. I heard that Align has shifted production to the all new 450 pro and thats why finding parts for the "older machines can be a challenge... Don't know how true this is. Oh also try Heli Direct. Good luck.

yeah I think that sucks that they came out with the new 450 pro but that only cuase I was late to get on the rc heli band wagon I guess. I am not that great at flying yet and not to mention I have made all the wrong choices when I first got into the rc heli's I didn't do my home work and being that I am a student and don't have much money I didn't get a chance to buy good equipment from the get go. now I am in like $2000 bucks and all I have to show for it is a blade 400 that I will never see my money back on cuase everyone thinks it sucks and a trex 450se v2 that is going to change. I fly very well on the sim. and I wanted to be a sponsored 3d pilot but budget issues and the constant waiting for parts that are hard to get or not necessarily hard to get just hard to get one piece without having to buy a whole kit that I don't need for way too much. It makes me affraid to even try different manuevers with the heli. sorry not trying to be a cry baby but it is true this hobby is very addicting and very expensive and I don't want to give up but fact is there is not that many people here in tucson flying heli's that I know of so there is not that much support. on the lighter side I saw on helihobby that there should be a torque tube upgrade for the se v2 but it says there isn't a release date yet. what do you all think is the advantage of having a torque tube versus the belt drive ?

I would stick with the belt drive till you get better. The advantage of the tube drive is smoother running and better autos but 450's are REAL hard to auto no matter what you have. Unless your a super 3d pilot you would not notice. Better autos would more noticable on a 50 or 90 size machine.
