Hoping someone might know, if not I'll check with the AMA.

Regarding CD's, I know you're required to be an AMA member for 3 consecutive years prior to being a CD.

I've been a member since mid-2006 without lapse of membership (except a January & February where I didn't renew right away.)

It's not quite 36 months, but it is 3 years (part of 06, 07, 08, and now 09)

Would I be eligible for CD now, or would I have to wait until next year?

That doesn't matter.

You're good to go. You just need to pass a simple AMA CD test and get recommendations from other members,I forget how many is needed now.

Take's more that - sorry -least get the paper work started
Let's see if I remember : you must assist as a official in a sanctioned event - and have signatures of three fellows that say you did . Their's one more - they just don't hand it over.

Yep. This is why I'm worrying about this in March, and not September or October.

I'm sorry, sounds like yours didn't come as easy as mine did (17 years ago). It must be harder now these days.

Straight from the horse's mouth.

Three consecutive years as an Open member, have three AMA members who know you recommend you, and state that they have seen you in action, pass the quiz, and send a $20 fee.

Good Luck.

It is a very simple test just commen sense and all answers a ama member should know anyways. The CD test is nothing to take but I will say once you are a CD look out the club will want you to CD everything and then you find out who your friends are and are not if you have a event where a CD is needed and there is a issue at hand. Been a CD for ever and sometimes its a pain in the butt.

Actually, you do not need to be a member for 3 consecutive years. Basically as long as you have been a member for a combined more than three years they take it to the internal committee and vote for an exception, which almost always passes.

Call Michelle at AMA ext. 232 with any questions.
