Quick question and some feedback please.
I am about to convert a belted 600 to a Trex700 TT tail and tail box/rotor.

I know its more or less a straight up swap, but have heard that the t700 boom has to be chopped about an inch? is this right.. even if I use the T700 Tail box mechanics?

If so .. does anyone know the EXACT amount it needs to be shortened?

Thanks

there's no need if u r gonna use the 700 tail casing.

you only need to chop off a bit if you are using a 600 tail casing (torque tube type).

yes.. same diameter..

as for the belt length, i dont know..

would be nice to have it belt driven though. i hate changing the umbrella gear when they strip due to hard landings..

This is for an Aerial Photog ship..
I can put the batteries wherever I likes.. don't need to be pretty or fit under a canopy.. there will be none.. I just ordered up all my parts.. I have a belt 600E.. I got the full tail boom back from the 700 including the 700 tailcase and rotor.. also got the 700 Boom supports..

Needed a new front TT gear case and gears .. they swap into the belt boom block..

Later I plan on putting the 700 flybar on it.. not really needed , but only hear great things..

I have the tango 45-06 and CC85HV esc on order.. goin with 12s setup.. and also running dual redundant Align 6A bec.. actually not a bec.. but you know what I mean.. I run them in parrallel.. each with a western robotics tail servo step down on the output that acts as a diode so there is no backfeed from the other BEC.. perfect 5.1 volts to my RX.. so.. no need for a stepdown for my tail servo.. have 8311 servos on cyclic..

Swingin 710's radix... 105mm tail blades

I should add.. swinging 710's.. make sure you are using the metal main blade holders!

Can't wait to get this thing in the sky!

1 inch chop
dont think you can get a belt for the conversion.....if you can get a custom belt then you dont need to chop the boom....i did the conversion with the torque tube version...it was pips easy with the chop at 1 inch...kind regards helinelly

if it broken.....glue the bast#$d...keep flying..i tell the wife my crashes cost £20! works for me

TT the tail. belt sucks,. slap slap will cause a vib which camera ships dont need, HFX frames will fit the bill, even in 600 form or 700 , I didnt have any problems with my 12s 3850s

so you need to chop the boom 1 inch? will that cause the tt to be longer then the boom??

alot longer then the boom
the 600 boom holder on the frame is longer/shorter inside then the 700 one,,,,,,so it does not mesh unless you cut the boom down.....its a easy fix...regards helinelly

if it broken.....glue the bast#$d...keep flying..i tell the wife my crashes cost £20! works for me
